Cathy Freeman is an Australian former sprinter, who specialised in the 400 metre sprint event. Her personal best was 48.63 and currently ranks her as the sixth fastest woman of all time. Freeman was the first Australian Indigenous person to become a Commonwealth games gold medalist in 1990 at the age of only 16. She became the Olympic champion for the women’s 400 metres at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Freeman established the Cathy Freeman Foundation in 2007 to help Indigenous children and their families recognise the power of education and achieve their goals and dreams. The Cathy Freeman Foundation programs help broaden horizons and inspire Indigenous students to experience their full potential in school, and beyond. The foundation's vision is an Australia where Indigenous and non-Indigenous children have the same education standards and opportunities in life.

The Constellation Cup...

The Constellation Cup is contested by the Australian national netball team and the New Zealand national netball team. It is awarded each year to the team that wins the most test matches between the two, excluding games played as part of multinational tournaments such as the Netball World Championships and Commonwealth Games. The first Constellation Cup series was held in 2010 with Australia just beating New Zealand. The Constellation Cup games are always played in both New Zealand and Australia. In the 2015 Constellation Cup four games were played in total with Australia and New Zealand winning two each. After a fourth close game Australia won the 2015 Constellation Cup. Australia has now won the Constellation cup three years in a row. Netball is a large part of Australian culture and the rivalry between New Zealand and Australia in the Constellation Cup is one of the most anticipated netball games in the world.
