I teach Mathematics and my students are 15 - 18 years old.

I don't have much knowledge about A.I. and I would like to learn more about it, as an educational tool.

I have my doubts, but I look forward to a more positive view on our Erasmus Plus course.

My name is Gudrun, and I teach English as a Foreign Language in secondary school. Our school specializes in social sciences, and our students range in age from 13/14 to 18/19.

I would like to learn how to effectively employ AI for language teaching and learning, and how to adapt my teaching methods to incorporate this new technology. Specifically, I am interested in:

• How can I use AI to make my lesson planning more efficient and my lessons more exciting?

• How can my students use it effectively without becoming too reliant on it?

• How can I teach them to use it properly?

I have some previous experience with Bing Copilot and ChatGPT, but I am certain that I have not yet fully explored the range of possibilities these tools and applications offer.

Although I’m middle-aged, I have no intention of slowing down just yet! 😃 That’s why I’ve been exploring the basics of AI, and now I’m really excited to deepen my understanding during this Erasmus course and discover how AI can be applied in education. I also look forward to exchanging ideas with all of you and gaining insights into how AI is being used in different educational settings.

Beyond the course, I’m really looking forward to meeting you all, sharing experiences, and learning from each other. It’s always inspiring to connect with fellow educators from different backgrounds.

I’m also excited to explore Ghent and the surrounding areas, experience the local culture, and try some traditional food! I’m sure this will be a fantastic learning experience, both professionally and personally. Looking forward to this journey with all of you

I am here to improve my computer skills, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence, and to learn about the culture of the city of Gand.

My name is Jurgita, and I come from Kaunas, Lithuania. I teach English as a foreign language and Legal English at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas.

I have some experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Twee). I have tried other tools as well, but I feel a bit overwhelmed with all of them :). As the saying goes, "Too many cooks spoil the broth" :) Nevertheless, I am curious to learn about more tools that would effectively help me prepare for my lectures and make them more attractive and useful. I would also want to hear how other colleagues incorporate AI into their lessons, especially assignments for students (allowing them to use AI effectively and with critical thinking).

In prison the use of new technologies is difficult and very limited: we usually do basic computer training and you have to work offline… But in recent years the needs of students are to know and experience AI tools. They do not have much knowledge of AI but hear a lot about it and are curious because they understand that many things in society are changing and don’t want to be left behind.

I hope that with this course I can know and learn appropriate tools and skills to be used with my students to satisfy their curiosity. My idea is to make, inside the prison school, a specific training course about ICT and Artificial Intelligence tools; it can be a great opportunity to take on new skills which they can use to have job opportunities when they return to freedom.

I’ve had a bit of experience with some AI resources because some of my colleagues also got some training in AI for education.

I’ve used Gemini and Copilot mainly, and also some specific sites like Diffit, Twee, Brisk or Gamma. However, I wouldn’t say that I’m an expert at all, as I haven’t actually worked with them for so long, I’ve basically been testing them and I still get a bit lost. Another concern of mine is that it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to find free AI apps and resources, which I can understand, but puts a strain on educators as often budget is very limited in many of our schools. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the course and the other teachers from all over Europe. See you on Monday!
