The author then explains the relationship between Tommy and Sam while including different lies she has told him. Tommy gets lost at sea, looking a baby kangaroo that Sam did not actually own. Sam lied about the things she had so Tommy could search for them but he ended up getting injured. Throughout the story, Sam’s dad tries to explain the different between real things and “moonshine” (lies). Towards the end of the story Sam’s father brings her a gerbil but she still calls it a baby kangaroo. After bringing to to Tommy to help cheer him up, the animal was named after her dad’s speech about “moonshine”. The book also used light markings and very diminished color for the illustrations. To conclude, the story provides examples or Sam lying and people later facing the consequences.

In a realm where imaginary friends are born, he was the only one left behind when his friends were selected by children. He set off on his own to find the real world, along with his child. After first meeting his friend, it was hard for him to make a connection because he has never had friends.  Although, once they got to know each other, they were perfect together. The author uses simple shapes and bright colors throughout the story. Overall, this book explains the process of going out of your way to make new friends.

He behinds you pack his cart, being pulled by an ox. He packs as many things as he can and travels all the way to another town. He sells all the items including the ox and makes as much money as possible. Although it is far, he walks all the way home so bring a few new household items and money back to his family. They begin working again, all year, until they have made and/or collected enough items to be sold again. The book uses bright, realistic colors in the illustrations, showing what each scene would look like. To conclude, this book showed events through pictures of a man and his family and showed what hard work can do for people.

When she loses one, she behinds to chase it. The earth breaks and she chases the dumpling underground through statues of god’s. They warn he not to go further because the oni was down there. She faced her fears and when the oni caught her she began to cook for him. After she left, she used the magic spoon to make dumplings for everyone in her town and she became rich. The author uses green tones but great detail in each illustration so the readers can see what is going on. Overall, I think this story can be used to show students that if you face your fears you can accomplish more in the end.

The child dresses appropriately for the weather and goes outside in the snow. He participates in making different activities, some alone and some with friends. He tries to save a snowball in his pockets at home but it melts. He goes out again the next day to explore more about the snow. Overall, the story show a child and their interactions with winter weather. The illustrator uses bright and blocky shapes to show the simplicity of the story and to help bring out the snow.

She prays for big and small things in her life including toys or people. She prays for people close to her and far away. Small and big items around her house and different food/drinks. The author uses realistic colors to show each item that she is praying for. To summarize, the author shows students how to be thankful for the things they have in life.

He continued asking people passing to stay until the house became too full. The house broke and everyone scattered on the ground. They decided to help build a new, bigger house for everyone to stay so they could still invite more people. The illustrations are showing through many different lines and small amount of color so show chaos. Overall, the story shows how welcoming people can be and that when they have compassion for each other, positive things are done.

Over the story, the mouse is targeted by many different animals. Each time, the man turns the mouse into a bigger animal so he can hunt the animals trying to attack him. After the mouse was transformed into many animals, he was turned into the most royal lion. He walked through the jungle with pride and forgot what the man had done for him. He plotted to kill him but the man sent him away into the jungle to turn back into a mouse because of his ungrateful actions. The illustrator uses dark greenery to show the forest scenes. Overall, this story explains and animal that become ungrateful through pride after being saved.
