It`s neccesary to comunicate with another person when we travel in an airport for example
you can write reports or make work calls
you can understand a film when you can`t see the subtitles
you can talk with anyone around the world because everybody knows english

For me the benefits are: to get knowledge and more information through and from internet, and for travelling around the world. You would know more about the world and changes occuring around the globe, and to get social comunications with people from other countries
