Broadcast script:

Welcome to KWF News.

You are now watching the 8 o’clock news with Kris.

Hello and good morning. Highlight of the news today are

Private sector support sought to conserve heritage buildings in KL

Mystery oil spills blot more than 130 Brazilian beaches

Joker: Tragic Clown Prince of Crime will put a smile on your face

Private sector, PAM, is in full support to conserve heritage buildings in the heart of our city centre. The Malaysian Institute of Architects has agreed to aid the government in terms of ideas and finance to refurbish the historical sites. This is after Kuala Lumpur’s Mayor, Dato’ Nor Hisham confessed that such help from private sector is much needed. PAM’s president, Lillian Tay, believes that there should be room for development while still preserving these important buildings. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Panggung Bandaraya are a couple of priorities the two parties view as assets. PAM has already started working on guidelines for the heritage buildings while awaiting the green light to initiate refurbishments.

The mysterious oil patches began to stain more than 130 Brazilian beaches in early September. Project Tamar, a group dedicated to the protection of sea turtles said that the oil spills were “the worst environmental tragedy” it has encountered since its formation in 1980.

Brazil’s president, Bolsonaro has mentioned that the oil is from the result of a shipwrecked oil tanker. He added “It appears to be a criminal. This could have been dumped at sea.”

Alongside, Environment Minister Ricardo Salles said that the government’s priority is “to act quickly to remove what is on land and to deepen the investigation to find the origin”.

Maria Christina Araujo, an oceanographer warned that the spills could harm the region’s economy due to the coastal ecosystem of northeastern Brazil that is very fragile.

The tourists are no longer going to the beaches even after more than 100 tonnes of oil has been removed from the beaches in the northeast.

On Monday evening, Bolsonaro said Brazilian authorities had identified a country in which the oil could have come from.

Written in Fleck’s joke journal is the line, “The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don’t.”

Joker has now earned nearly $300 million in few days of domestic play.

By the theme of how society tends to treat those with mental health issues is apparent throughout the movie.

At the start of the film, Fleck, is a good-natured but socially awkward and severely depressed man who just wants to make people laugh. He was physically brutalised and emotionally abused because of his uncontrollable laughing condition.

Highlight of the movie, the acting of Joaquin Pheonix, whose bitter tears flow through his laughter, laughing and crying, producing goose pump for the audience.

As though his life could not be any worse, reality bites hard in the form of mind-breaking revelations and a terrible split-second decision on one fateful night.

During a particularly intense scene, a victim does point out that there are still good people out there in the world. As joker would eventually find his enemy and match in the noble, BATMAN.Ultimately though, as the newly born Joker leaves Gotham in a state of carnage, it becomes clear the city is in dire need of a Batman to save it.

Themes on life’s harsh realities interspersed throughout the film, and it does leave audiences with something to think about.
Joker is definitely not a film to be missed as it offers a darkly intriguing explanation of Joker’s murderous insanity.

That has been KWF News with Kris.
