A kid might be 14 and something happens where they need to step up and start helping their parents. Faith invovles putting your full trust in someone or something. To me, religious faith means following certain rules or traditions. He is able to recite Jewish prayers and he follows religious customs. As time in the concentration camp goes on, Eliezer begins to question his personal faith. He believes God has abandoned him and the Jewish people. Eliezer no longer follows the Jewsish customs such as celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Eliezer is questioning God's existence. He is no longer going along with the other Jews in the camp who are following God blindly.
