This old white lady a Norms in Lakewood called me a little Nigger in the restroom. I was about 6. I associated that experience with the notion of, people ( some people) will simply just not like you, it’s nothing that you’ve done they just don’t like you and it’s nothing you can do to persuade them otherwise. And who like you is none of your concern just be aware.

I’ve spoken on that experience a few times.

Some people already have a a preconceived notion about me.

And the difference between stereotypes and factual representations.

I believe a personal can have a negative view on sense of self based of their own actions, accomplishments or whatever that isn’t racially inclined.

Someone who positively identifies with AAP might have a stronger sense of self. To study how being of color plays into all aspects of our society. To identify how being AA or any descendant of automaticity determines where you’re not red zoned from, or your access to resources. Understanding the history of the laws set in place based on ethnicity. To view a different perspective though the study of AAP
