Greed— Wendell and Harvey are very greedy when they learn there are so many types of food they can eat. The fact that they are offered these delicious treats with no restrictions manipulates their conscience, making them greedy for not just the yummy food, but for more. That is giving into the Holiday House, exactly what Hood wants.
Illusion— As the protagonist, Harvey, later learns, everything in the house and everything it provides is a total illusion. Illusions are generally created for entertainment purposes, but in a book like this, they were created to lure Harvey and the other kids away from the truth.  It is also so they don’t even think about that possibility and find anything out. 

Conclusion

Greed and illusion are the two things I believe represent the delicious food because the delicious food in general does not help the protagonists succeed, in fact, it works against them. In conclusion, the delicious food symbolizes greed and illusion.
