A uniform creates good image for the airline as it shows them as punctual, smart and efficient and will encourage people to use their services.

Facial piercings are likely to be frowned upon by airlines. Nose piercings may be allowed but will be asked to be removed during work hours. All regulations allow staff to have one single studded piercing in the ear.

If a crew member is seen by a customer, whilst they are in uniform, behaving inappropriately, conducting illegal behaviours, getting paralytically drunk etc. customers will gain a negative perception of the airline and may change how they think about the airline. Furthermore, that crew member may get reported and this will result in disciplinarys. This could damage both the airlines reputation and the individual crew members reputation.

Even when not in uniform staff just behave appropriately and act in a professional manner as anyone could be watching. Staff should also not post pictures in the uniform holding any form of alcohol as people may see this and think they are drinking before the flights even when they are not so they must be very careful about how they act and what they share online.
