My name is Ionica-Crețu Elena-Emilia, and our students from Telești, Gorj, have started their journey in learning life-saving skills. This is our first material, a visual guide on how to call 112 in case of an emergency.

Objective: Learning how to correctly place an unconscious person who is breathing into a safe position to keep their airway open.

Pupil Involvement:

• Learning the Steps: Our students from Telești have learned the essential steps of the recovery position through demonstrations and theory.

• Creative Work: Students created simple infographics and diagrams to illustrate the process:

  1. Arm: Place the nearest arm at a right angle.

  2. Hand: Tuck the other hand under the opposite cheek.

  3. Knee: Bend the far knee and pull the person toward you.

  4. Airway: Tilt the head back slightly to ensure they can breathe easily.

Objective: Learning the theoretical steps of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and understanding its vital importance in an emergency.

Pupil Involvement:

• Theory & Awareness: Students learned the "Check, Call, Compress" sequence. We discussed how to recognize if someone needs CPR and the rhythm required for chest compressions.

• Creative Activity: Our pupils created visual guides and posters illustrating the basic CPR steps:

  1. Check the scene for safety and the person for responsiveness.

  2. Call 112 if there is no response.

  3. Chest Compressions: Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

  4. Repeat until professional help arrives.

As we reach the final stage of our "We Can Help!" project, we look back with pride at everything our students from Telești have achieved. This journey was more than just learning facts; it was about empowerment and responsibility.

What our students have gained:

• Vital Knowledge: From dialing 112 with confidence to understanding the life-saving steps of the Recovery Position and CPR.

• Safety Awareness: They now understand how to stay calm and act responsibly in emergency situations.

• Digital & Creative Skills: Creating posters and sharing work on Padlet helped them communicate complex ideas in a simple, visual way.

• Empathy & Collaboration: Even though we worked from different locations, the spirit of helping others united us all.

Why this matters:

First aid is a life skill. By teaching our children these basics today, we are raising a generation of confident citizens who are prepared to help someone in need. We are proud to contribute to a school culture of safety!

FIRST STEP: CALL FOR HELP "112"

My students wanted to emphasize that the "112" Emergency Call Center in Türkiye is not only for health services but also for the police and fire department. Also, they realized that "112" is the only emergency call number in all European countries.

1. identifying the steps to follow when we are put in a situation to provide first aid;

2. applying the rules corresponding to the steps to provide first aid;

3. creating a role-playing game through which students will learn how to behave when they are put in concrete situations.

Description of the activity:

The teacher prepares 5 different situations in which it is necessary to request first aid:

a. The person is not breathing and has no pulse

b the person is not breathing and has a pulse

c. the person has suffered burns on the upper arms

d. the person has suffered an open fracture in the right leg

5. the person has suddenly fainted and is unconscious.

Students in groups of 4 study these situations and offer solutions that they present using the Gallery Tour method.

At the end of the activity, a poster is created with the steps they have learned when they have to provide first aid.

The excited students realized the importance of knowing these rules, because our lives depend on how we react in critical moments.

They made the information more meaningful by watching videos, creating posters, diagrams, visual guides, and infographics, and emphasized the importance of "FIRST AID" not only to themselves but also to those around them.

Through role-playing, they both practiced and made the learning more permanent for everyone. They learned about things they had never known before. Students' creativity, writing, and technology skills were further developed. They also learned to work collaboratively, cooperate with each other, and share. Thanks to this eTwinning project, they now know what to do and what not to do if they encounter such situations in real life.

Hello everyone!

In this activity, our students learned the basic steps of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and how to react in emergency situations. They discovered how important it is to stay calm, call 112, and help a person who is not breathing.

💡 What did we learn?

• How to check if a person is responsive

• How to call for help

• How to check breathing

• Basic CPR steps: 30 compressions + 2 rescue breaths

🎭 Students practiced through role-play activities( they used dolls to practice CPR), where they acted out real-life situations and learned how to respond quickly and confidently.

📊 They also created presentation to better understand each step.

❤️ This activity helped students realize that even basic knowledge can save a life.

Each team described a given situation, then presented it to their colleagues.

The activity took place in a friendly, warm, empathetic atmosphere, offering the students the opportunity to learn how to behave in critical first aid situations.

Their enthusiasm was evident in the creativity and originality they demonstrated during a role play.

Students learned the basic steps of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) through a guided activity. First, they watched an instructional video by the Red Cross, where they were introduced to the correct procedures and key actions in emergency situations.

After that, pupils created a simple visual guide (diagram) showing the main CPR steps. They then practiced the steps themselves, which helped them better understand the process and gain confidence in responding to emergencies.

This activity combined visual learning, practical work, and active participation, making the learning experience both engaging and meaningful.

First aid awareness is a critically important field because it can save lives in unexpected situations. Knowing what to do in the first moments before professional help arrives can make a real difference, which is why being informed and prepared is essential.

In our project, we focused on life-saving topics such as CPR and Choking. We studied and presented CPR and Heimlich maneuver steps for adults, children, and babies. We also covered other first aid situations like burns, bleeding, and fractures, along with information about first aid kits and what to do before and during emergencies. To reach a wider audience, our board was prepared in both English and Turkish.

We hope our work raises awareness and helps others feel more confident in emergency situations. Thank you all for your effort and collaboration!

Cum se realizează poziția de recuperare?

Ø  Verifică dacă persoana este inconștientă, dar respiră normal.

Ø  Așază brațul cel mai apropiat de tine în unghi drept față de corp.

Ø  Adu celălalt braț peste piept și așază dosul palmei sub obrazul apropiat de tine.

Ø  Îndoaie genunchiul piciorului mai îndepărtat.

Ø  Trage ușor de genunchi pentru a rostogoli persoana pe o parte, spre tine.

Ø  Înclină capul ușor pe spate pentru a menține căile respiratorii deschise.

Ø  Asigură-te că gura este orientată în jos, astfel încât lichidele să se poată scurge și să nu blocheze respirația.

Ø  Monitorizează permanent respirația până la sosirea ajutorului medical.

Pașii de bază ai RCP

1. Verificarea siguranței locului

Înainte de a interveni, salvatorul trebuie să se asigure că zona este sigură atât pentru victimă, cât și pentru el însuși.

2. Verificarea stării victimei

Se verifică dacă persoana răspunde la stimuli verbali și tactili. Dacă nu răspunde, se solicită imediat ajutor.

3. Apelarea serviciului de urgență

Se apelează numărul unic de urgență 112 și se oferă informații clare despre situație și locație.

4. Verificarea respirației

Se observă dacă victima respiră normal. Dacă nu respiră sau prezintă doar gâfâieli ocazionale, se consideră că este în stop cardiorespirator.

5. Începerea compresiilor toracice

·       Victima este așezată pe o suprafață dură.

·       Palmele sunt plasate în centrul toracelui.

·       Se efectuează compresii puternice și rapide.

·       Frecvența recomandată este de aproximativ 100-120 compresii pe minut.

·       Adâncimea compresiilor este de aproximativ 5-6 cm la adult.

6. Ventilațiile de salvare

După 30 de compresii se efectuează 2 ventilații, dacă salvatorul este instruit și dispune de condiții sigure pentru efectuarea acestora.

7. Continuarea manevrelor

Se continuă ciclurile de 30 compresii și 2 ventilații până la:

·       sosirea echipajului medical;

·       revenirea semnelor de viață;

·       epuizarea salvatorului.

      Elevii de la Liceul Tehnologic ,,Elena Garagiani,, Tecuci au participat la o activitate educativă organizată în colaborare cu Inspectoratul pentru Situații de Urgență Galați, având ca temă „Vă putem ajuta! Conștientizarea primului ajutor la școală.”

        În cadrul activității, specialiștii ISU le-au prezentat elevilor noțiuni esențiale despre resuscitarea cardiopulmonară (RCP) și poziția laterală de siguranță (poziția de recuperare), explicând importanța acestora în salvarea vieții unei persoane aflate în dificultate. Elevii au învățat pașii necesari pentru evaluarea unei victime, apelarea serviciului de urgență 112, efectuarea compresiilor toracice și aplicarea corectă a poziției de recuperare.

      Pe lângă informațiile teoretice, participanții au avut ocazia să exerseze practic tehnicile prezentate, sub îndrumarea personalului ISU. Activitatea a fost una interactivă și atractivă, contribuind la dezvoltarea spiritului civic, a responsabilității și a capacității elevilor de a reacționa adecvat în situații de urgență.

    Prin această experiență, elevii LTEC și-au însușit cunoștințe și abilități valoroase care le pot permite să ofere ajutor până la sosirea echipajelor specializate, demonstrând că educația pentru siguranță și prevenție este esențială în formarea tinerilor.
