2) We are an all volunteer non-profit of 270 members who work to restore and maintain local non-motorized hiking trails.
3) In collaboration with public land management agencies, including the US Forest Service and City of Ouray, OTG restores and maintains public hiking trails to agency standards, maintains trail signage, and trail sign-in registers. OTG provides volunteer training and public education to promote safe and sustainable hiking practices through their newsletter, website, published hiking map, book and public events.
4) OTG maps public hiking trails; collects hiking trail user numbers and other user information through trail register data; and collects information about trail conditions and maintenance needs, in part using a data collection system with the USFS and Colorado Mountain Club.
