         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Emotion</strong>: <em>Poverty-Wealth and Love-Ambivalence</em>. <em>Poverty</em> and <em>Wealth</em> is shown throughout the story. Cinderella and her family are poor and have many chores and house work to be done vs. the King and his family are wealthy. <em>Love</em> is shown between Cinderella and the Prince. <em>Ambivalence</em> is shown within Cinderella and her thoughts about her new family (Stepmother and Stepsisters).&nbsp; <br><br><strong>Story Line:</strong></div><ul><li>A stepmother forces stepdaughter to do all chores. Nicknames her "Cinderwench"</li><li>Cinderella cries as stepsisters/stepmother go to a ball. She is comforted by her Fairy Godmother</li><li>Fairy Godmother transforms household items and animals into magical assistants.&nbsp;</li><li>Cinderella goes to ball, needs to be home by midnight.&nbsp;</li><li>Cinderella dances with prince, drops one of her shoes on her way home.</li><li>Prince looks for Cinderella, uses her shoe she dropped to find her.</li><li>Prince finds Cinderella because the dropped shoe fits her onto her foot.&nbsp;</li></ul><div><br><strong>Questions:</strong><br>1) What other stories can you think of that has a Stepmother?<br>2) How would it make you feel if you had to do all of the chores in your house all alone?</div>]]></description>

This story shows cleverness &amp; wisdom when the monkey form a plan to make a chain in order to solve the problem of the moon being in the well. This also shows foolishness and stupidity when the monkey's chain breaks and they fall into the well and realize that the moon was not inside of the well.&nbsp;</div><div><br><strong>Story Line:</strong></div><ul><li>Monkeys see reflection of moon inside a well.</li><li>Believe moon fell inside the well.</li><li>They make a plan to retrieve the moon by forming a monkey chain.</li><li>Branch breaks, monkey chain falls into the well.</li><li>"When the foolish have a foolish leader...." quote from end of the story.</li></ul><div><br><strong>Questions</strong>:<br>1) Can you think of a time that you and someone you know had to come up with a plan?<br>2) Can you think of a time where you ended up being wrong about something that made you feel foolish?</div>]]></description>

This story shows weakness by all of his hard work being destroyed by ocean waves.<em> Cleverness &amp; Wisdom--Foolishness &amp; Stupidity</em>. Cleverness and wisdom is shown when Ang-ngalo thinks to use salt bricks since he can't find white bricks. Foolishness and stupidity is shown when the ocean's waves wash away the salt bricks causing them to dissolve.&nbsp;</div><div><br><strong>Story Line</strong>:</div><ul><li>Tall, strong giant named Ang-ngalo lives on tall mountain near ocean.</li><li>He sees beautiful woman across the ocean.</li><li>He walks through the ocean to see her, creating deep ocean caverns.&nbsp;</li><li>She asks him to build a mansion made of white bricks.</li><li>Can't find white bricks, uses bricks made of salt to build mansion.</li><li>Ocean waves wash the salt bricks away, making ocean salty.&nbsp;</li></ul><div><br><strong>Questions</strong>:<br>1) Why do you think the ocean waves made the salt bricks disappear?<br>2) Can you think of a time where you tasted salty water?</div>]]></description>
