Copyright law protects profits of a products. By protecting the profits those profits can go towards future better quality products.

However drawbacks include that some may see the laws as outdated and complex so people may ignore them. Also copyright laws are unfair on smaller companies as they don't have the budget to purchase rights to certain songs or images.

For example if Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru0K8uYEZWw) is being posted elsewhere and making money from only ripping up the video and posting it elsewhere the copyright law allows for that video to be taken down and claim all the money. 

Websites such as 123 movies definitely breach copyright law as they publish thousands of movies that have been ripped up illegally and post them on their website. 

Every individual has the right to privacy and TV shows and media outlets must be careful when reporting somebody's private life because of the libel law. If a persons reputation has been damaged by the media falsely they have the ability to sue.  

Celebrities can apply a super injunctions to make sure their private life is maintained. So the media cannot discuss certain topics.The court can grant these injunctions.
Ryan Giggs famously used a super injunction to prevent discussion of his affair with his brothers wife.

Joanne Yates was a girl who was strangled to death in 2010 and the top suspect was landlord Christopher Jefferies. Especially within the media. Christopher Jefferies was hounded when labelled a murder and went into hiding after hundreds of newspapers reported the false news. He even changed his very distinct appearance. When proven innocent papers were forced by libel damages for their false accusations. Secret Recording where a journalist heads undercover to uncover certain hidden secrets. The programme will be made if there is "Prima Facie" evidence from and a large public outcry to investigate. Undercover journalists must be trained in gaining quality footage but at the same time keeping themselves safe.

A example of a show that used secret recording is the '2002 Hooligans No one likes us'. This was filmed to show the public and those in power the horrible state of football hooligansim in the UK. Helping those to try and avoid these certain groups and for protection against them.

Reporting Stats. 

Statistics are often reported on BBC News. The statistics must be accurate. The presenters then must explain the stats and what they mean so they audience must be able to make their own judgment. They stats also must be used in the correct context so the audience cannot be swayed. 

The audience expects to have the correct facts given to them with sources to the facts to make sure they are true first before they can make their own judgment on them. 

Crime. 

Reporting Crime is a very delicate topic on the news as you have to be very careful on how you report it. You cannot be caught 'Fear mongering' claiming "This crime can happen near you!" also you need to make sure you facts are reported correctly. Can't have people on saying "Oh there was thousands of them charging at us!" when their was only 14. So you have to be very factual and accurate when reporting crime. 

Tv Shows like Crime-watch will be reporting crime and in their recreations you can only recreate what is factually known .

These are marketed on the app because they are their own product that has not been purchased from anybody else so they want their own products to make the most profit.
