This book is great if you're interested in reading about what's it like living as a low wage worker. It talked about time management and balancing life with work. There wasn't much action or comedy as I would have preferred, but the book gave good insight about living in a different setting. The book was somewhat short, but informative, almost like a diary. It wasn't boring but it was not exciting. If you're interested into topics like these you should go check it out.

I myself do not enjoy reading fictional books unlike most the reading community. So for those looking for a feel good story with a great series of events I do not recommend this book. This book goes deep into the wonders of space from the beginning of time to today and eventually the destruction of the universe and all in between. It covers topics like quarks, black holes, spacetime, dark energy/matter, and many other mysteries within our unimaginably big universe. Although this may sound a tad boring for those who are not into science the author (Neil De Grasse Tyson) does a great job of getting to the point and keeping everything very interesting keeping the book only 200 pages. The book is great for anyone wanting to know more about the universe they came from and doesn't have the desire to read bible sized textbooks.

This book is such a great eye opener about one of the first High School Massacres in America. This book has maps of the school and copies of journal entries from those who were involved. I went deep into learning about this massacre and it took the author many years to collect records and get as close to the truth as possible for the reader to understand what actually hapened that fateful day and it goes into the mental state of Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. Cullen goes through the lives of the people of Columbine before, during, and after the incident and how there were signs before it happened and no one picked up on them. Go read this book if you want to get a better understanding of a massacre that took place nearly 20 years ago!

I started off reading the Lightning thief and it totally caught my attention which lead me to finish the rest of the 4 books. The book takes place in New York with a boy named Percy Jackson also known as the son of Poseidon. He just found out he is the son of a god and is sent to a training ground full of deities. His goal is to catch whoever took Zeus's lightning bolt and along the way faces many feuds with mythological enemies. This book is great if you love Mythology and action as much as I do!

Reading about historical events can sometimes be a little boring, however, not with this book. This historical fiction is one of the best books I have ever read. Through this book, I was able to learn about one of the biggest tragedies of our country and impacting events that took place in 1911 in New York; the Triangle shirtwaist factory fire killing 146 immigrant workers. The events are seen through the eyes of different perspectives which also makes the reader see how the immigrants were treated in that time period. This book will allow you to learn about an event that changed the way the U.S. would be forever. It is 330 pages and can be found online for $12. I highly recommend this book!

Dave Cullen spent 10 years on this book, so you bet this book is going to have everything you need to know about the massacre that happened at Columbine. Cullen gets a great amount of information on the killers, he uses the killers own words and drawings in the end of the book. The book catches your attention right off the back, where it starts off just a couple days before the shooting. I really enjoyed all 389 pages of the book.

A 1/3 of the people in the world are introverts and most feel that their voice is lost in a society that values and idolizes their more extroverted counterparts. Our culture and media has told us time and time again that the charismatic, well-rounded fellow is the optimal person rather than a reserved and stoic one. For those people that feel like their reservation is a bane, Susan Cain's self-help book is a must read, where she argues that the introvert is undervalued in Western Culture has multitude of innate traits that give them plenty of strengths despite their quiet nature. Her self help book has the analysis and effort of a research paper while being presented in a manner that's accessible and easy to read for all, Quiet is again a must read for all introverts that need a boost in their feelings of their own introversion.

Dear Martin is a short, powerful novel that expresses the wrenching presents of continuing racism in america. Justice, the main character, tries out a social experiment. He aims to be more like Martin Luther King Jr to help with his feelings. One night his friend Manny is shot and killed by a white cop. Justice becomes caught in this "media frenzy" as hes also writing letters to MLK. He's faced to a world that seems like it wants him to fail. The events in this book show the true struggles of what certain people have to go through depending on their race. Overall this book deals with ultimate truth. The author doesn't shy away from what exists within our society when it comes to race. This is definitely an eye-opening and powerful book that everyone should read.
-Coral Fay
