Conclusions:
While researching sources and information surrounding my compelling question I discovered that several factors led to the Civil War. Slavery was one of the larger issues that the states fought about, but it was not the only one. Taxes on imported goods was one of the first issues that the states disagreed about. The southern states imported more goods than the North and therefore opposed the increased taxes. Slavery had not become a huge issue of dissention until cotton farming became more lucrative. Contributing to the concept that economy, and finances also played a role in the civil war.
