I can connect the book "Tease" to a show "Thirteen Reason Why" because in both things a girl kills herself because of bullying. Also the girl that killed herself was known as a slut. In the show when the girl was alive everyone hated her. It was the same in “tease” everyone hated her because she hit on everyone's boyfriend so nobody liked her. In the book everyone is being blamed for Emma's death because they bullied her telling her to stay away from Sara’s man. Everyone is so mean to Sara after Emma's death. Everyone blames her and a group of her friends for Emma's death. In the show everyone that was hannah's {the person that committed suicide} friend is getting blamed for her death. In both the show and the book everyone has to go to court to see who killed her without killing her. In the show some people either felt responsible or thought that other people were responsible. In the book people that were not in the school and aren't going to court think that the people that bullied her are responsible. But the people that were involved think that is was Emma fault because “It was Emma. No one hung the rope for her. And even before that, it's not like Emma was innocent”.

What parts of the book seem most believable or unbelievable? Why?

Parts of the book that seem most believable is when Emma commits suicide because of bullying. Many people in school commit suicide because of bullying it happens a lot. After Emma committed suicide the people that bullied her have to go to trial. They get harassed and get blamed for Emma committing suicide. After someone commits suicide people that bullied her or did something to her get blamed for the person's death. Sara thinks that it's not her fault that Emma committed suicide because she “didn't hang the rope for her”. This is something a lot of people think that are being accused of killing a person that committed suicide. It's unbelievable how sara life got ruined because of emma. Its crazy how you can just bully someone and that drives them to kill themselves and when they do your life also gets ruined. I think that its unbelievable how a person can hurt someone so much by being mean to them that makes them want to end their life. I think that the bully should not be held accountable if someone kills them selfs but at the same time they should be but just depends how bad and mean they were to the person. If it was really bad then they should be accountable to some extant. Also they need to find out if it was for other reasons and not just the bully.

12.This book is controversial because…..

This book is controversial because it talks about commiting suicide mainly about people that are in school. A lot of times kids get bullied at school and commit suicide. Also sometimes it could be other things that drives a person to kill themself not just bullying. Bullying could be something that adds on to it too though. Some people think that the person who bullied the person that commited suicide is guilty. And other people mainly the bully and other people think that it's not a certain person fault because they didn't do it for the person and sometimes they didn’t even tell them to do it. I think that this topic is very complicated and it could be both ways or it could be one way depending on what happened. For me it all depends on how badly they were bullied and if it wasn’t something Else that drove the person to committing suicide. I think that it is very hard to see who is gillly and who isn’t because their are always different sides to each story. Also the person that committed suicide is gone and can’t say why they did it and who/what made them want to do it.

My favorite character is Sara which is the main character in “Tease”. What i would talk to her about is the case. Ask her about her point of view about what happened. I would ask who does she think killed Emma and whose fault she thinks that is that made Emma commit suicide. If she thinks she is a little bit, not at all, or responsible for Emma committing suicide. Then i will tell her what i think about what happened. I think that she is a little bit responsible for Emma's death but not responsible for the whole thing. I mean it's not like she told Emma to go kill herself. Emma was being a slut and hitting on Dylan so i think that Sara had the right to says something to Emma for doing what she was doing. Emma was doing something that was wrong and someone needed to tell her and i don’t think that Sara should be blamed for Emma’s death. I would also talk to her about the boy from summer school. And ask her if she liked him and that it’s great that he is talking to her. Also how it is a good thing that he does not think that she is the reason that Emma killed herself.

I can make a connection of my book to news events. In the book “Tease” it talks about a girl named Emma and how she got bullied for being a slut and also about her committing suicide. In news events there is sometimes a report about a kid that committed suicide because they were bullied. These things are very similar to each other. Another reason why is because in the book the people that bullied Emma have to go on trial to see who would be held responsible for her death. This is what can happen in some cases in everyday life and the news reporters normally announce who is guilty for the person that committed suicide. In the book I don’t know who is guilty for Emma’s death yet but people that are hearing what is happening think that it’s Sara’s fault for Emma committing suicide. In the news a lot of people think that certain people are responsible for a person committing suicide. So in conclusion the book “Tease” and news events have a connection to each other because they both talk about people committing suicide, courts that take place, and who is responsible the person committing suicide.

My favorite character is still Sara and if I were to have another conversation with her i would ask her questions. I would ask her how she is feeling and she would tell me about how she has been crying a lot about the case. Then I would ask her why she has been crying and she would tell me how she doesn’t know if she killed Emma or if she didn’t. And I would ask her if she thinks that she killed Emma and she would say that she thinks she might have in away. Then I will tell her that it’s not her fault because Emma was out of line when she was doing what she was doing. Then another question I would ask her is what she thinks about Brielle after what everyone was saying about how she is a bitch. Also after what her brother said about how Brielle brought her and her whole family into this mess. Then she would probably start to cry and start to tell me about how she feels about Brielle and if she thinks she got her into the mess. And the last question I would ask her is how she feels about camichael and she would tell me.Then I will tell her that everything will be ok maybe not at the moment but it will soon.

“Everything about what happened to Emma-- it wasn't me. I mean, actually, it wasn't any of us. It was Emma, No one hung the rope for her” {Maciel 4}. | I think that some part of this is right because Sara or Brielle never told Emma to kill herself. Emma was hitting and hanging out with Dylan and Sara and Brielle made it obvious that they didn't want her to hang out with Dylan. Mainly because Dylan and Sara are dating and Emma was doing things she shouldn't have been doing. But they never told her to kill herself and they didn't hang the rope either.

“But i am; i am seeing it. At the other end of the balcony, leaning against the wall and totally oblivious that they’re not alone, Dylan and Emma… And they don't stop kissing..’you fucking slut” {Maciel 150-151}. | This is why Sara didn't want Emma to hang out with Dylan because Emma has stole other people's boyfriends before. So Sara was trying to convince Dylan to stop hanging out with her but he didn't and he ended up cheating on Sara. which is why Sarah should have told Dylan in the beginning why she didn't want him hanging out with Emma because deep down Sarah knew that Emma would take Dylan away from her.

“We made a giant, glitter heart that says “Roses are red, violets are blue, Emma's a slut, and a skanky ho, too”{Maciel 116}. | Ever since Dylan and Emma kissed Sara wanted to make Emma's life a living hell. So her and Brielle decided to make the sign and hang it on Emma's house. I think that Sara might have taking it too far with the sign but to be honest Emma deserved it. The reason is because she shouldn't have done what she did and if she didn't this would have never happened and if she stayed away maybe she wouldn't have killed herself. So i don't think that anyone is reasonable for Emma's death and that Emma did it to herself and she is the one reasonable for what happened to her.

The first thing I would tell her is I’m glad that she stood up to her dad when he was yelling at her in the lawyers office. He had no right to tell her what she had to do and to stop acting like a child because she was right he is never around so he shouldn’t act like he knows everything about what happened with Emma. And that I think it’s a good thing that she told him those things and that he was acting like a child and that she is one. Another thing I would tell her Is that Dylan is it worth it because if you was he wouldn’t have cheated on her with Emma and after that he cheated on Emma with her. And he continued to cheat on Emma with Sara and that she shouldn’t want A boyfriend that cheats on her so she should stop trying to get back with him. And to get a boyfriend that cares about her and wouldn’t cheat on her and treat her right.

If your book has a main character, does he/she change over the course of the text? If so, why and how?

The main character of my book is Sara. She has changed over the course of the text. In the beginning of the book it talks about how Emma killed herself because of bullying. Sara and group of people were being blamed for Emma killing herself. They were preparing to go to court so Sara was asked a lot of questions a lot of them were why did you bully her? Do you think it was wrong?. She would say that Emma was being a slut and trying to steal Dylan from her and she would be mean to Emma to get her to stop. Also that she didn’t kill Emma and that Emma did it herself. For Example it states “ Everything about what happened to Emma it wasn’t me. I mean, actually, It wasn’t any of us. It was Emma. No one hung the rope for her. And even before that, it’s not like Emma was innocent. At all”(Maciel 4). Later in the book it Tells you how Emma stole Sara’s boyfriend At a party. After the party Sara and Dylan broke up and Emma and Dylan started dating. Sara hated Emma because of this So she decided to make Emma's life a living hell. She did this by calling her a slut, bullying her, making everyone turn against her, and cyber bullied her which made Emma kill herself. In the end of the book during court after hearing everyone’s plead not Sarah realized how sorry she was and that she made Emma's life harder and that she could’ve been nicer to her. She started crying and saying how sorry she was and how she wishes she could take it all back. In the very end of the book Sarah writes a letter to Emma explaining how she is sorry.
