When I was young, I was OBSESSED with playing any kind of games on mobile phones. Like I was *that* annoying child. I was always told this was a bad thing, being so obsessed with a screen of bright colours and interesting characters, but that is all changing. Much of this change is due to the development of DGBLL.

So, what is DGBLL?

I am so glad you asked!
DGBLL stands for "Digital Game Based Language Learning". I know, not as complicated as you may have first assumed. (never judge an acronym by her length ladies and gents!) DGBLL consists of technology based interactive games which aid in one's language learning ability. These games are designed to make you feel like you're not even really doing much learning, which is the very cool thing about them.

Ok so I've compiled a list of games that I personally think are the best of the best in terms of learning a language.
1. 4 Pics, 1 Word
To say I am obsessed with this game is an understatement. It is 100% a staple for English learners and Fluent speakers alike. The concept is simple: find the common word for all four pictures shown. This really helps your vocab, and the words get harder as you improve!

2. Club Penguin
Come on, I know you've played it.
But did you know you could improve your languages whilst gaming? Because Club Penguin is played around the word, there are so many different languages popping up in little conversation bubbles. You can interact with other foreign penguins, play them in multiplayer games, and go on missions together! You don't even know you're learning. It did die there for a while, but I'm happy to report she's back up and running folks

Do you speak Simlish?

Ok so, I've a bone to pick with a few people.
Whoever said that The Sims is a good example of DGBLL needs to be stopped. ASAP. I have a few propblems with this. First of all, the sims is expensive. Yes, you can get it for moblie, but the quality definatly leaves something to be desired. Secondly, Simlish is a language that no matter how hard I try, I cannot figure out. And sure what's the use? This irritates me as it just seems so... pointless. I don't know, let me know what you think.
