1. I liked that Google Docs will easily allow you to add citations in MLA format or whatever format you need to cite sources. This is excellent for students who are doing research. I will be sharing this with my college child.
2. I liked that Google Classroom has an alert now that lets the teacher know that an item has been submitted late or has been resubmitted. This is very helpful for teachers. 1. I did not know you could get training to be a Google Certified Educator. I am going to look into this.

I liked that there is a Google Sites feature that is like Weebly. I used Weebly several years ago for a classroom website, so I am excited that there is something similar on Google. I like that I can embed all sorts of things on this site.
2. Being able to learn a language through Google is amazing. That is helpful for students who are already in a foreign language class--they could receive more practice this way. We often get Vietnamese students in our school who have no English knowledge. It taught how you could use some Google features that would be helpful when you have a substitute teacher.
2. It also described how to make folders for all of your bookmarks. That would be very helpful if you have a lot of bookmarks. It's sometimes hard to find things you've saved when you have lots of bookmarks.
3. The Special Education teacher who was featured talked about how she used Google calendar to help one of her unorganized students. Answer Garden sounds like a good program to see what your students are interested in. I think I would use this when we study Greek mythology so that I can see what gods/goddesses/creatures my students are interested in.

He gave suggestions for how to get access to technology as much as possible. I'm one of the teachers who books the lab months in advance. I use the lab for a variety of purposes. I wish we had one to ones but that day is very far off for our county for 6th graders.
2.He gave advice on how to manage all of the technology we have available to us, along with all the other things we have to manage. He had 7 tips ranging from taking breaks to chewing gum. Unsplash.com would be a great resource for students to use to design projects. We did a famous African American brochure and images from unsplash would have been very helpful for them. I can use it for my vocabulary words that we do each day in class. If students can see a picture of something that represents the word, they may remember it better.
2. Fuzeplay is a good way to teach students coding. Many students are really interested in this. I will share this with our technology teacher. Blogging is an interesting way to have students write. Many students don't like to write on pencil and paper. Students love to be on a computer, so if they are blogging they write but don't realize this is what they are doing. I could have them start out with small blogs and gradually work toward longer blogs.
2. I like that the students can have individual blogs but they can also have a classroom blog. Twitter is quite confusing to me. This podcast's purpose was to help ease the fear factor for teachers. She created Tweech Me where teachers can get help with Twitter and other things related to Twitter and chats. There are Twitter mentors that teachers can sign up for. I may be getting this app. It's only 99 cents!
2. This podcast explains how to teach coding. Most parents want their children to learn some type of coding. This is something I have no clue about. Our tech teacher participates in the "Hour of Code" each year. This explains more about what it is and where I can get lessons.
2. I can code using a story we read in class. There are other subject areas that can be incorporated with code. Scratch is a good way to start in a simple way.
