Six Word Memoir

This project included a close-up of a quote or motto to describe your life in only six words. "I live life to the fullest" is the quote I chose because I love doing new things.

Portrait Illustration

This project required us to find an artist or celebrity to trace and draw on Photoshop. I chose a music artist, Frank Ocean, to draw, which proved to be difficult because of the shadows that had to be drawn in on Photoshop.

Animal Illustration

This project was similar to the portrait illustration, however the objective was to draw an animal of your choice. I chose to draw a pit bull because of the dog's short hair, making the sketch easier to draw the shadows. I learned how to change the opacity of a brush on Photoshop when drawing the shadows and highlights of the pit bull.

Surreal Levitation Photography

Low Poly Vector Art Portrait

This project used the "low poly vector" look, using triangles of various sizes, to create a portrait of a celebrity. I chose to use Dwayne Johnson as my subject, and I learned how to use the pen tool in Photoshop to create the triangles.

Custom Playing Cards

This group project used edited photos of KHS staff members to create a customized deck of cards. I learned how to blend the staff members' faces to the original Joker and King of Clubs cards.

Worm's Eye View Photography

Landscape in a Jar

This DIY Photoshop project required us to pick a Photoshop tutorial of any kind, and I chose to make a landscape in a jar. This photo was taken in Branson, Missouri. I chose this photo because of the bright blue sky that gave it a picturesque look. I learned how to use filters to make the jar look see-through.

This project also gave multiple options of photos to take. I chose to take pictures of shadows and highlights around the school. I learned how to edit a photo to bring out the shadows of a subject.

Action Photography

This project used Photoshop to create a blur effect to make the subject look "in-motion." I learned how to select the inverse of a subject in Photoshop to blur everything but the person.

Reflection

Because I enjoyed taking photos in Digital Photography I, I decided to take the Digital Photography II; and this class didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the mixture of art and photography that was prevalent in most of the projects we did. I also learned more about Photoshop that I hadn't known before. My favorite projects were the ones of nature or a subject outside because the photos taken in the natural light came out nicely. In the end, I would retake this class so I can further improve my Photoshop skills.
