During this semester I participated in the global Papago club, where we went to different places with foreign students and experienced interesting cultural activities that are unique to Taiwan. The first memorable activity was when we made ice-cream cakes together and learned about the customs of the Ching Ming Festival. I found it challenging to share the culture with them in English because the words I used were not used in everyday life, but it was a very impressive experience.

On the other hand, when we went to the night market and the zoo with foreign students, an Indian would always come to me for a chat on the way. As we all know, the accent of Indians is very difficult to understand, and I could not understand more than half of the sentences in the process of chatting with him, but I would try to catch the key words and guess the meaning of his words. I can catch the key words quickly and express what I want to convey through the key words.

The most impressive part of our 4-5 hour conversation was when we were discussing what it means to be a soldier in Taiwan and India. In Taiwan, being in the military is often seen as less honorable, not an option, and is mandatory for all biological males; in India, being in the military is seen as an honor compared to Taiwan, which has a more negative image of the military. This movie collection really made me laugh all the way through. In addition to the first season's use of the teenage topic of “sex,” I also saw some of my own strange imaginations about sex, and even some of my action, being presented in the episode. This movie is probably the best movie I've ever seen. It's obviously 20 years old, but the overall performance is excellent, not boring at all, and the content of the narration is also very in-depth. A few days after the movie ended, I'm still trying to explain some of the images in the movie because it's really shocking. The main characters were also really well acted, I didn't recognize him as Leonardo at all, but as Dom Cobb, who had a lot of struggles and great rivalry scenes, which I thought very enjoyable. I really like this director's work because this is the first Nolan-directed movie I've ever seen, and because I think it's so good, I've watched all his other movies as well, which is why I watched Interstellar as well.

This is a really cute little film where all the episodes are around the same story, only the main character in each episode isn't the same person. The way it's told strikes me as a novelty, and it's very much the kind of thing that my department needs to be able to look at the same thing from all sides. Sometimes things can be interpreted differently depending on one's point of view and perspective, so I believe that only when we actually understand what happened to each person can we truly recognize and evaluate something. In addition to the narrative, I also like the content of the story, which is not only focused on the troubles of teenagers, but also describes the story from an adult's point of view, which is why I've seen many critics say that this is an “animated film for adults”. I agree with this point, after all, sometimes teenagers can't understand the world of adults, but those who have gone through teenage and adult stages at the same time should be able to see themselves as they were and are now.

I watched this movie right after Inception, which had more storytelling, but the big scene at the end was definitely a lot more powerful than Inception. For me, my favorite part of the movie was the bond of the family's relationship, as well as the knowledge of the physics and astronomy. I saw a very strong bond between father and daughter, and it was especially touching to see that even though they hadn't seen each other for a long time, the daughter kept believing that her father would come back to save them. The knowledge of physics and astronomy is also very attractive to me. It's really nice to learn something new while watching the movie. At the end, the ending of the movie echoes the beginning of the movie. I think this is the best thing about this director, as he keeps everyone guessing about the ending of the story. All in all, I think I prefer Inception, but this movie is definitely a masterpiece!
