         <title>The Flipped Classroom: A Twist on Teaching</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Source: </strong>Peer Reviewed<br><strong>Abstract: </strong><br>The traditional classroom has utilized the "I Do", "We Do", "You Do" as a strategy for teaching for years. The flipped classroomtruly flips that strategy. The teacher uses "You Do", "We Do", "I Do" instead. Homework, inquiry, and investigation happen in the classroom. At home students participate in preparation work including watching videos, PowerPoint's, and completing readings. After completing the preparation work, students arrive in class ready to start solving problems, analyzing text, or investigating solutions. The flipped classroom is fairly new in the teaching field as a strategy for teaching. It has been used by teachers from elementary school to graduate school. As with most strategies, the flipped classroom has a variety of ways to implement in the classroom. This article is a case study of the flipped classroom. It reviews and provides research on the implementation of the flipped classroom. In addition, the article provides a variety of implementation methods and tools to be utilized in a flipped classroom. As with all teaching strategies there are advantages and disadvantages to the flipped classroom which are explained as well.<br><strong>Findings: <br></strong>Flipping your classroom does not mean you can never lecture or that your classroom is always flipped.          <title>Impacts of Flipped Classroom in High School Health Education</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Source</strong>: Peer Reviewed<br><strong>Abstract</strong>:As advanced technology increasingly infiltrated into classroom, the flipped classroom has come to light in secondary educational settings. The flipped classroom is a new instructional approach that intends to flip the traditional teacher-centered classroom into student centered. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of the flipped classroom instructional pedagogy in a ninth grade health education class.<br> <strong>Findings: </strong>Studies and findings are showing and proving that flipped instructional models in the classrooms are improving test scores and educational interactions. This includes all different learner styles and different level of learners.          <title>The Effects of the Flipped Model of Instruction on Student Engagement and Performance in the Secondary Mathematics Classroom</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Source:</strong> Peer Reviewed<br><strong>Abstract:</strong> In many of the secondary classrooms across the country, students are passively engaged in the mathematics content, and academic performance can be described, at best, as mediocre. This research study sought to bring about improvements in student engagement and performance in the secondary mathematics classroom through the implementation of the flippedmodel of instruction and compared student interaction in the flipped classroom with a traditional format. The flipped model of instruction is a relatively new teaching strategy attempting to improve student engagement and performance by moving the lecture outside the classroom via technology and moving homework and exercises with concepts inside the classroom via learning activities. Changes in the student participants' perceptions and attitudes were evidenced and evaluated through the completion of a pre- and post-survey, a teacher-created unit test, random interviews, and a focus group session. In addition, the researcher documented observations, experiences, thoughts, and insights regarding the intervention in a journal on a daily basis. Quantitative results and qualitative findings revealed the student participants responded favorably to the flipped model of instruction and experienced an increase in their engagement and communication when compared to the traditional classroom experience. The student participants also recognized improvements in the quality of instruction and use of class of time with the flipped model of instruction. In terms of academic performance, no significant changes were demonstrated between the flipped model of instruction students and those taught in a traditional classroom environment.<br><strong>Findings:  </strong>Students had a positive perception toward the flipped classroom, indicating learning was more personalized, cooperative learning groups fostered critical thinking, and online resources provided students more control over their learning. The flipped model of instruction provides educators with the means to integrate effective use of technology in their classrooms to promote an active, collaborative environment. Results of her study revealed the flipped classroom improved student engagement, increased student-teacher feedback, and promoted self-paced learning. <br><strong>Citation:  </strong>Clark, K. R.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Source: </strong>Practicioner<br><strong>Abstract: </strong>The conversation focused on the use of technologies to support “flipped” classrooms.  What is the flipped classroom? This term describes a teaching approach in which students get a first exposure to course content before class through readings or videos, then spend class time deepening their understanding of that content through active learning exercises. <br><strong>Findings: </strong>This article sits down and discusses with other educators what they see as a flipped classroom.          <title>This Struggling School Flipped the Classroom</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Source</strong>: Practicioner<br><strong>Abstract:</strong>The premise behind the “flipped classroom” is simple: Instead of listening to teachers lecture in class and then completing assignments at home, students watch online lessons before class and then complete homework, exercises, and other projects at school. And while the “flipped classroom” is a relatively new pedagogical model, it is quite promising. In fact, in just one year, the freshmen failure rate dropped by 33% in English, 31% in math, 22% in science, and 19% in social studies, and after two years college admission rates rose from 63% to 80%.<br><strong>Findings:</strong> By implementing flipped instruction into the school, they saw many gains. Academic gains were impressive as well as teacher/student relationships became more reliable and accessible.
