I make sure that they can freely express themselves, and know that they can have open discussions, and that we all have Growth mindsets which allows us to learn from our mistakes. And, that’s ok! I teach using various strategies that support language acquisition which includes methods that will support many learning styles. GLAD strategies are excellent when promoting language and vocabulary. Lecture, practice, and exit tickets are also great! Practice, and giving students and opportunity to work in groups with other students is also an excellent way to allow students to learn from their peers. Also, at the end of the day, it is important to take some time to reflect on what went well, what worked, what didn’t work. But also what worked well, what a great outcome? And offer your self some grace as well, because we as teacher do a lot for our students as well, and we also need to love and not be so hard on ourselves either.
