-Vincent used primarily dull, earthy colours in his early paintings. They were often representations of the poor and the poor's life.
-After encountering the French Impressionists in Paris, Van Gogh's palette became very bright and saturated,
-He had a very bad self-esteem, so he likely changed his appearance in his self-portraits to match that(?).
-One of my favourite works by Van Gogh is "The Starry Night over the Rhone", it just feels so cold and lonely...probably not the best emotion I can feel but I certainly feel something when I look at it.

I found "Sorrow" to be the most emotionally moving piece portrayed in the video. The utter despair of the woman is apparent not only from the fact that she is weeping, but also in the glum color of simple charcoal black. She is portrayed naked, which not only shows her nudity, but how bare and empty her life is.

Out of Van Gough's most famous paintings, one I recall being emotional for me is the "Potato Eaters", because of the dem lighting and use of color in the scenery. I get the feeling of it being cold, some of the people had a positive outlook of the situation but some had a negative expression upon their face.
