This is my Grandma Hannelore Hearn and my Grandpa Edward Gazerwitz. Now my grandma is 83 years old. She grew up in Germany and came to America when she was 15 years old. That was the most important event that has ever happened to her. Moving to America completely changed her life and my life. She had to learn a completely new language and now speaks great English.

My grandma has always been there for me ever since I was born. She has never missed any major event in my life. When my family moved to Arizona, she also moved to Arizona a year later. It is always nice to see her; she changes the mood in any room she enters. This photo is from my high school graduation. She endured staying in the Arizona heat for more than 2 hours and sat outside the whole time.

One of my favorite things about my Grandma is how good a cook she is. I love when she comes over to make dinner. We have this tradition where she would come over and make this German dish called Rouladen. It is my favorite food, and she always makes extra that we freeze so I can have it anytime. She also makes a great apple cake and she lets me have the whole baking sheet, her love language is cooking and she is the best at it.

Another piece of advice that my grandma gave me is to enjoy every step in life. My grandma has had a tough life, losing 2 husbands, but she has never stopped smiling. Even now, when she was just diagnosed with cancer, she has never stopped being the same. She enjoys life even when its hard because there is always something to learn through those lessons.

My grandma has seen the world and has lived through major events. One thing that she said about how our world is today is that it is so divided. She sees that the world is changing every minute and that the world will never be the same. She also said that she is surprised by how much technology is changing. She also mentioned medicine and how much it is changing how people grow up. People are going to live longer, and people are not going to look like theri age.

My grandma loves Johnny Cash. One time in the car, I played one of his songs, not knowing that she used to listen to him. She started singing and dancing. Then I asked her if she had ever seen him in concert, and she then told me that she would always go see him and loved to go. She mentioned that it was a huge part of her life was going to concerts, and Johnny Cash was her favorite person to see live.
