         <description><![CDATA[<div>6th/7th grade ELA<br>My ELL students are embarking on narrative writing units. I really like the ideas I saw in&nbsp;the <strong><em>Taking a Stand ALU on the portal.&nbsp;</em></strong>&nbsp;The students will think of bullying issues or other situations where children have to make a choice and use their narratives to describe the best way to solve these issues. I am going discuss this with my students and see how we can further develop this idea to create some community service opportunities. Maybe I will present it more in terms of how can we use our writing to teach how to be a leader? </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My middle schools students in the after school Girls STEAM Club will design and write a proposal for a maker space on their campus.  There is a designated location but needs to be developed into a usable space for teachers and students.  Students will need to consider the needs of K-8 students, storage, water sources, electricity sources and  security all while minimizing the impact on the existing  ecosystem.</div>]]></description>
