  • Yes, so my housemates/ friends know where I am. It began as a bit of fun- the idea of friends knowing where you are... but now it's more serious as my housemates check it to see if I am okay on my walk home, if I'm in the house etc.

  • Currently I share my location with all my snapchat friends apart from a select few- as I make sure I don't mind those who I've added on snapchat knowing where I am.

  • Large benefits are there for making sure people are safe on their journeys home etc.. however it could also create more danger when random people are able to see your location if you're not careful enough.

Benefits are useful if meeting up with someone to track how near they are etc, or if someone's lost. However disadvantage is you can see when the person's active and can feel hurt if they have been active but aren't replying/ if it's a significant other, you can become obsessed with checking their whereabouts

  • yes snap maps, however I do not really interact with it much. I've never used life 360.

  • everyone who follows me on snapchat can see my location other than a select few who are blocked.

  • benefits:

    • if you are in trouble or need help and you don't know where you are people can find and help e.g. police, family...

    • can be helpful if you are trying to meet up with someone and you cant find where they've said to meet.

    negatives:

    • if you haven't customised who can see your location it could be dangerous e.g being stalked
