In my opinion, the story behind this burdah is so interesting and it has moral values that one can learn and apply it on their life. What I learned from this burdah are, we have to be brave to seek forgiveness from the person we had wronged to. It doesn’t matter if it is small or big, we have to confront the person and apologise to him or her. Secondly, we have to teach ourselves to be a forgiving person. Although it is bitter to swallow things that maybe the other person did to us was very cruel, but in order to have a healthy heart and to make our life in peace, we have to forgive the person. It is not necessary to forget the one who did wronged to us but at least we forgive him or her. This action will help us to become a better person in dunya and akhirah, in sha Allah.

I understand that the Era and kingdom of Umawi is the first caliph-based islamic caliphate after the death of the prophet Muhammad s.a.w.

My thought after learning the era of umawi:

I was stunned and excited to note that the islamic currency was actually introduced in the era of Umawi by Abdul Malik bin Marwan.

Also, i understand that in this era of umawi, a new system has been introduced.

What i learnt from this Era of Jahiliyyah are:

I understand that the people in the era of Jahiliyyah are kind of narrow-minded people. As they didn’t know how to be balance. They also hard to believe anyone and they were always ready to the worst possibilities.

There are few good ethics and the bad ethics of the Arab Jahiliah that i found while studying this topic, which are:

🍀The good ethics:
•They are honouring a guest. (الكرام)
They not reluctant to slaughter their own camel to be served to their guest.

=I think this is beautiful as we in Malaysia did not practice this kind of behaviour. We would rather serve what we have in our house than buying or searching any other great foods and drinks.

•They are fulfilling their promise (الوفاء بالعهد)
If they promise, they will do it.

=I also think this is amazing. As we in Malaysia, sometimes we didn’t fulfill our promise, even our big promise. Somehow, this fact makes me sad if we compare our era with era of jahiliyyah.

🍀The bad ethics:
•They practiced system of “qabilah”
The people in the era of Jahiliyyah, they lived in their own qabilah. They didn’t mixed with the other or different qabilah. And each of the qabilah have their own rules and regulations. They even have to marry to the person in their own qabilah.

=I think this is not good, as we as a muslim, have to befriend and mix with other people, regardless their skin colour. That is what Islam told us.

•They loved music and like to dance.
They will have women to dance in front of men, and men will clap for them.

More than that, i have learnt and remembered that the Arab Jahiliyyah will only celebrate 3 things, and they will have a huge fest which are:
-When a baby boy was born
-When a poet is discovered
-When their horse gave birth to another horse

=I find these celebrations are interesting, as compared we in malaysia have a lot of celebration.

As I learnt the words from Sayyidina Ali, i understand that:

•When Allah loves a person, Allah will give inspiration to perfect his/her ibadah.

=I find this is so beautiful as we know, if we are deeply in love with Allah through our prayers, we will feel peace and satisfy as we perform our prayers and ibadah.

•We have to becareful of words and doings as it will effect our religion and the hereafter.

=As we know our words is way more sharper than a blade.

•The are three things that lead to affection/love. Which are religion, modesty and generousity.

I understand that from this Era of Andalusi, people in Arab became more civilised.

They wanted to build exciting cities (مدينة مزدهرة)

And in this era, people live together regardless their religion. They love and kind to each other peacefully.

And in this era too, people of Arab became far far away from the real islamic way as there were too much entertainment and many luxurious in their life.

As they became far away from islam, the arabic influence started to going down.

All the people in Era of Umawi, they can practice their own religious will all the freedom. Moreover, all women got their rights and they can ensure their children to be educated. Also, they were many women poet in this era of umawi.

(علاقة)

I understand that because of poems, it changed the life and the diversity of the Arab People in Era of Abasiyah. A different poet is also discovered.

There are a few poet that I remembered in this era of Abasiyah, which are:

أبو فراس الحمداني، أبو الطبيب المتنبي، الإمام الشافعي.
