This astronomical phenomenon will be visible to millions of people across Asia and Europe at 11:28 P.M. (PHT) with the penumbral stage, and observers are currently awaiting the partial eclipse to begin at 12:27 A.M.

In totality, the peak of the night will take place from 1:30 A.M. to 2:53 A.M (PHT), with the maximum eclipse seen at 2:12 A.M (PHT) when the Moon is completely covered by the Earth’s shadow and appears red.

According to PAGASA’s Astronomical Observation and Time Service Unit head Mario Raymundo that the Moon's reddish hue is a result of sunlight traveling through Earth's atmosphere, filtering out blue light and giving the Moon a red tint.
