By Tami Hoag

The Bitter Season is a crime fiction book based in Minneapolis and following homicide Agent Sam Kovac and Cold Case Detective Nikki Liska. Kovac and Liska used to work together on Homicide Cases, but Liska has recently been transferred to Cold Cases to investigate a 25-year-old unsolved murder. Kovac, however is tasked to cover a recent double-homicide and throughout the course of their investigations, the two crimes begin to overlap into a thrilling conclusion. I would highly recommend this book to others because I thought this book was thrilling, gripping, and amazing.

https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/tami-hoag/the-bitter-season/
Michael Matalavage

By Markus Zusak
The Book Thief is a book following a young girl living in Germany during World War II. What makes this book very special is the fact that Death is the narrator. This book is really good and I definitely recommend to read it within your lifetime.

Alex Taitano

https://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/14/books/review/14greenj.html

To All the Boys I've Loved Before

By Jenny Han

This novel depicts the life of a sophomore girl in high school named Lara Jean who has written various love letters to boys to help her get over her crushes. But then one day these letters are sent out to the boys by an anonymous source, and the protagonist then has to balance her new love life with the rest of her daily activities. I enjoyed the book because it showed that it is all right to be brought out of your comfort zone and experience new things even if you are confused and afraid. Readers can relate to many of Lara Jean's mindsets and attitudes as a teenage girl.

Jenna Weller
