         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1. What is the function of the digestive system?</strong><br><strong>-</strong> The use of the digestive system is to digest the food that we eat in our everyday life. And also after digesting the food, it's going to absorb the nutrients it have. So, the use of the digestive system is digesting and absorption.<br><strong>2. What are the main organs for digestion. Give their primary function.</strong><br><strong>-</strong><em> The different major organs of the digestive system are;</em></div><ul><li><strong>&nbsp;Mouth</strong> - This serves the entrance of the food. In the mouth you can found the <strong>teeth and tongue</strong> that also help to the digesting of the food. And you can also found the <strong>pharynx</strong>, it is the funnel shaped that is the end of the mouth.</li><li>&nbsp;<strong>Esophagus</strong> - This is the moist, muscular tube that connects the pharynx to the stomach. And in this esophagus you can found the <strong>epiglottis</strong>, the structure that covers the larynx while the food is passing in the pharynx. By the help of <strong>Peristalsis</strong>, the wavelike contraction, helps the food to go down to stomach.</li><li>&nbsp;<strong>Stomach</strong> - A sac-like, most expanded portion of the food tube. By the help of cardiac sphincter, it let the food come inside the stomach. And the rugae gives the capability of the food to move inside the stomach. And the ending part, with Pyloric Sphincter, it helps the food go outside the stomach and go to the small intestine.</li><li>&nbsp;<strong>Small Intestine </strong>- This is the part of digestive system we're the absorption happen. And specifically, it will happen in the duodenum. The upper part of small intestine that receives the partly digested food mass from the stomach, final digestion mostly place in here. But the Jejunum and Ileum is the one who is absorbing the nutrients from the food who is digested.</li><li><strong>Large Intestine</strong> - knows also as colon, This intestine is the one who is responsible for digesting the Water from the food that from the small intestine. then after taking all the nutrients from food it will became the waste products and deliver it to <strong>Rectum.</strong> Where the rectum is the last stop of it the going to the last part of the digestive system, and that is the anus, where the waste products is going to go out in the body.</li></ul><div><br><strong>3. What are the accessory organs of the digestive system? Identify their important roles in the digestion process.</strong></div><ul><li>&nbsp;Salivary glands - Secretes saliva to easy swallowing of food. the salivary glands have 3 parts.&nbsp;</li></ul><ol><li>&nbsp;Parotid Glands - Can be found near the ear.</li><li>Sub mandibular - Can be found under the jaw</li><li>&nbsp;Sub lingual - can be found under the toungue.</li></ol><div>And if the food is already mixed with salive it is now called bolus.</div><ul><li>Liver - This is the largest gland in the digestive system. It secretes liquid called bile. And it is stored in the Gall Bladder. And this liquid is help to absorb the fats in the veins.</li><li>Pancreas - It can be found behind the stomach, It secretes the pancreas juices that also can be called as enzymes. It helps to the clear the food that has left into the stomach.</li></ul>]]></description>
