Skinner's Studies based off of Thorndikes
Purpose: Studied learning through consequences (operant conditioning)
-Studied the power that reward or reinforcement could exert on one's behavior
Ex: Pigeon would peck and food would come out or pigeon would turn and food would come out

Positive Reinforcement: a reward is added for good behavivor and increase good behaviors

Negative Reinforcement: doing something unpleasant to the person receiving it and increase good behavior

Punishment: Positive punishment is doing something that the receiver doesn't like and negative punishment is doing something the receiver likes

Thorndike: Researcher
Purpose (operant conditioning) to indicate animals have intellignce and if an action brings a reward Thorndike believed that action stayed in the human's or animal's mind (changing behavior) (Law of Effect).
