The Grange University Hospital provides care for people who are seriously ill or have complex problems or conditions that cannot be safely managed at one of our Local General Hospitals. The following services are available at The Grange University Hospital:

• Emergency admissions for major illnesses and injuries and those in need of resuscitation

• Major and Co-morbidity (more than one serious condition) Surgery

The Grange University Hospital is close to the Police Headquarters in Cwmbran, just off the A4042 between Newport and Abergavenny.

• Undercover storage for around 100 bikes

There is a Costa Coffee, and also a staff restaurant available on site.

The Royal Gwent Hospital provides first-class care to the residents of Gwent and South Powys.  It provides a wide range of services with a focus on delivering general and routine care, including:

• A 24/7 nurse-led Minor Injury Unit
   

• A Medical Assessment Unit
   

• Planned Surgery and care after you have had a general anaesthetic

• Rehabilitation and Therapy Services - Services like Physiotherapy and Speech and Language

• Diagnostic Services - assessments, scans and x-rays that are needed for investigations including MRI and CT scans

• A wide variety of Specialist Outpatient Clinics
   

• An Enhanced Frailty Unit for the care of older people

• 371+ inpatient beds

• Children's Outpatient appointments

• Maternity services

Care for Minor Injuries is provided by the Royal Gwent Hospital's Minor Injury Unit, which is run by our Emergency Nurse Practitioners.  Emergency Nurse Practitioners are experienced Clinical Professionals who specialise in the management of Minor Injuries. 

Newport

The Royal Gwent Hospital is situated on the western edge of Newport Town Centre on the A48 main road to Cardiff.

Limited parking and Blue Badge parking is available within the hospital grounds and is free. 'Drop-off' points are also available should you need to drop someone at the hospital before you obtain a parking space. The staff at the front of the hospital will be able to direct you.

Extra parking is available and accessible via Mendalgief Road. To access Mendalgief Road, travelling away from the city centre, continue to go past the Royal Gwent Hospital (on your right), keep in the left hand lane, you will come to a set of lights. Turn left at the lights and take the second left into Mendalgief Car Park. 

Travelling from the M4 Tredegar Park direction, continue along Cardiff Road with Belle Vue Park on your left. At the traffic lights, keep to the right hand lane. Turn right, then second left into Mendalgief Road car park.

There is also parking available for staff, at Park Square car park. If you wish to park here please contact a member of the RGH E&T team ahead of starting who will provide you with an email, to get your ticket authorised at the car park.

There is a Costa Coffee, on the first floor of the hospital, and a restaurant on level 3.

At weekends, the facilities of the Outpatient Department are used by local GPs for the holding of their surgeries.

Care for Minor Injuries is provided by Nevill Hall Hospital's Minor Injury Unit, which is run by our Emergency Nurse Practitioners.  Emergency Nurse Practitioners are experienced Clinical Professionals who specialise in the management of Minor Injuries. 

Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan Hospital

Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan is a local general hospital located in Ebbw Vale. The hospital has 96 in-patient beds and also incorporates an adult mental health unit with outpatient and day-care providing care for the whole of Blaenau Gwent.

Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan also has an out-patient department, a dedicated minor injuries unit, enhanced diagnostic support and a comprehensive therapies department.

As part of your placement with Nevill Hall, you will also get the opportunity to spend a day at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan.

Nevill Hall hospital is located off the A40 in Abergavenny.

Free parking is available onsite at the hospital.

There are also a cafe, and restaurant available on site.

Pharmacy can be found on the ground floor. Follow the signs marked pharmacy from the main entrance.

From the M4 Caerphilly and the south:

Exit M4 at junction 32 and take the A470 north. Leave the A470 at the 2nd junction (Nantgarw) and from roundabout take 3rd exit onto A468  towards Caerphilly (Caerphilly road). Stay on A468 across two roundabouts. At next (Pwllypant) roundabout take 1st exit onto A469 towards Newbridge. Bear right at next roundabout (A469). Stay on A469 across next two roundabouts and bear left after hospital sign. Turn left at traffic lights.

From A465:

Take the turning onto the A4060 at Dowlais. follow A4060 south to its junction with A470, join A 470 and travel south towards Cardiff, through Pontypridd. Leave the A470 at the Nantgarw junction and from roundabout take 1st exit onto A468  towards Caerphilly (Caerphilly road). Stay on A468 across two roundabouts. At next (Pwllypant )roundabout take 1st exit onto A469 towards Newbridge. Bear right at next roundabout (A469). Stay on A469 across next two roundabouts and bear left after hospital sign. Turn left at traffic lights.

From New Tredegar and Bargoed:

Take the A469 south to Ystrad Mynach. At the main Ystrad Mynach roundabout stay on A469 south towards Caerphilly. Bear right at the filter lanes and turn right at traffic lights into the hospital.

From Blackwood and the east:

Take A472 west towards Ystrad Mynach, travel through Maesycwmmer. Note: major road improvements are being carried out at present to improve traffic flow at this junction, you are advised to follow traffic instructions and the hospital will be clearly signposted. At main Ystrad Mynach roundabout take filter lane left towards Caerphilly. Bear right at the next filter lanes and turn right at traffic lights into the hospital.

A car park with more than 600 spaces is located underneath the main building. Blue badge and easy access parent and child spaces are situated closer to the entrances. There are several entrances from the car park. Near each entrance are lifts which will take you directly to the level you need. Main reception is on the lower ground floor.

Parking at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr is free.

The hospital also has a cafe and restaurant on site.

From M4 (Caerphilly and the South) Exit the M4 at Junction 28 (Tredegar Park). Follow signs for A467 towards Risca and Newbridge. Continue on A467, then take the A472 towards Newbridge. At the roundabout near Newbridge, take the exit for Bridge Street. Llanarth House is located within Newbridge Gateway on your left (By McDonalds and the Otter Pub)

From M4 (Newport and the East) Exit the M4 at Junction 25A for Cwmbran/Newbridge. Take the A4042 northbound. At the Pontypool roundabout, take the A472 westbound. Continue through Crumlin and into Newbridge. Turn left onto Bridge Street, and Llanarth House will be on your left.

From A465 (Heads of the Valleys Road) Exit the A465 at Brynmawr and follow signs for A4047 to Abertillery. Continue on the A467 southbound. At Crumlin, take the A472 westbound toward Newbridge. Turn left onto Bridge Street, and Llanarth House is located within Newbridge Gateway.
