Stezaker combines artistic expression with photography technology in his art. He uses artistic techniques to manipulate photographs in a way a photographer cannot to express an idea or incite a reaction from the audience.

His style of art most resembles surrealism. As we saw in class, this movement uses strange angles and visuals to show that the world around us is weird and can be framed in different ways. Collages such as Marriage that use different angles and mesh parts of the photographs lead viewers to shift their frame of reference, and others like Janus II show that you can look at the art in different ways.
