King Leopold ll was the second king of Belgium, and he was only a king of very small amounts of land, and was jealous of his cousin Queen Victoria of great Britain because she had more land. When the different leaders in Europe came together to split up the different places of Africa, Leopold took the largest piece in the middle of Africa and unexplored, and he wanted the land so he would have more power. King Leopold is guilty of killing over 10 million people.

King Leopold wanted power and so he took control in the congo so he would have the materials they had, because they were of great value to Leopold. Due to Leopold's orders, he is guilty of about 8 million deaths of the native congo people. With his wealth and power he was able to take control of the people and had led them to suffering. Without King Leopold, there would be the suffering and the amount of death that he caused; a death of 10 million people.
