Problem:

One significant climate issue affecting my local area is the increasing frequency of typhoons and heavy rainfall due to climate change. These extreme weather events lead to severe flooding, destruction of homes, and loss of livelihoods, particularly in vulnerable communities.

Why it Matters:

This issue is critical because it not only endangers lives but also disrupts local economies and ecosystems. Flooding can contaminate water supplies, leading to health risks, and it can displace families, forcing them to seek shelter and assistance. The environmental impact includes soil erosion and loss of biodiversity, which further exacerbates the challenges faced by communities.

My Commitment:

I commit to participating in local tree-planting initiatives and advocating for sustainable land use practices in my community. By planting trees, I aim to help reduce flooding and improve air quality, while also raising awareness about the importance of protecting our environment.

B.INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

1. Implementing strict building codes, emergency preparedness, community awareness, and innovative solutions like functional float bags can reduce risks associated with typhoons and heavy rainfall, while also ensuring safety during floods.

2. Encourage family and community climate action through education, awareness, community projects, and eco-friendly practices, such as reducing waste and conserving water.

3. The strategies for holding businesses and governments accountable for climate action include advocating for transparency, encouraging community engagement, exploring climate litigation, and utilizing public awareness campaigns. These efforts can create a more resilient community and foster a culture of accountability towards climate action.

Problem: Extreme heat temperature

Why it matters?

Because of extreme heat temperature, Many people can't easily go outside without a umbrella because it can cause heat stroke. For addition, It's difficult to the local farmers to plant seeds and crop to their farms. furthermore, Some of us felt how extreme heat shortaged our water resources.

My commitment:

As a student, I will post in social media a poster or proper instructions on how to protect ourselves from this kind of climate issue. Furthermore, I will not waste or play our water resources if its not important because it's needed if this kind of climate issue attacks.

The vehicles at midnight especially the motors is very loud. And it causes distractions in our neighborhood since people are sleeping at night. And it also causes shocks in our dogs which it made it loud even more.

I can report in to the baranggay so that the officials will take action.

2. Individual Reflection

The more practical way is to put humps in every road to avoid speeding on the vehicles, and to report it to the baranggay so that they can take actions for those people who drives agressively.

I will tell them to also report to the baranggay so that the officials will take actions immediately since many people are having a problems about the noisy vehicles. And because they are also affected by the noise.

It'll be better if we manage it by taking actions immediately and we can also participate in certain organizations. To help the community with certain problems and to also raise concerns in every climate problem that we have.

One of the climate issues affecting our barangay and the world is the intense heat of the sun, which is caused by the thinning of our ozone layer. As a result, even in the morning, the heat is already painful to our skin. This can lead to illnesses like heat stroke and dehydration due to the extreme heat. It's no joke to experience such illnesses, so we must always be cautious.

One factor in preventing this is to always bring water, especially when the sun's rays are strong, to avoid heat stroke and dehydration. If it's not important to go out, it's best to stay at home. And to further prevent the excessive heat, let's avoid burning plastic to slow down the thinning of our ozone layer.

B: INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

The most practical solution lies within ourselves, and that is self-discipline. Let's admit it, we are the reason why our ozone layer is thinning, and we are also the reason why we are suffering and will continue to suffer if we don't have self-discipline. Our small efforts can lead to significant changes, such as avoiding the burning of plastics anywhere. I encourage everyone to refrain from doing things that can further harm our ozone layer, which protects us from intense heat.

As I said, self-discipline and our collective micro-efforts can lead to significant positive change if we work together. This change can benefit not only our current generation but also future ones. I urge everyone to focus on addressing the climate crisis, particularly climate change. While it may not be completely eradicated, we can at least reduce the damage to our ozone layer.

I encourage the government to support young people through projects like tree planting. As I mentioned earlier, our individual micro-efforts can collectively lead to significant positive change.

PROBLEM: ADDICTS

This problem matter to us because it can cause chaos and murders. And because of this our baranggay are struggling on environmental issues.

I will encourage them to join in organizations that is helping the community to be better and also theirselves so that they can have a better life.

I think it's better to put them in rehab.

The best way to encourage them is to have a meeting or plan talk so that they will know the conclusions on the problem about the addicts in our baranggay.

Because it is connected on what we are doing. Just like if you throw trashes everywhere can destroy our climate change.

Problem: Flood

The authorities keeps cutting down the trees and it caused flooding when it's raining heavily and it creates a really bad impact towards the community. The trash are spreading everywhere and starts affecting the health issues of the people

Why it matters: It really matters because if it's not resolved as soon as possible, people may face a very serious problem especially in their health and can possibly lead to death.

My commitment: I will encourage many people in our community to learn to dispose their garbage properly and to plant many trees in order to protect the future generations and also encourage more people to do the right to help our environment. I will ensure to provide knowledge to the younger and make them understand the importance of being disciplined enough to creat a change.

•Which solution are most practical?

For me, the most practical solution is by encouraging the younger in making a difference because it's hard to change the present but it's not difficult to change the future.

• How can you encourage your families and communities to join these action?

I can encourage them by explaining the importance of taking of the environment and the benefits we can get if we are smart enough to dispose our garbage properly and refrain from cutting down the trees.

• How can we hold businesses and government accountable for climate action?

They are the one who is obligated to create a difference, they are the one who is responsible for resolving that kind of issue, it should be their concern to protect their people and even the environment from suffering and they should stand up as a leader they are designed to be.

PROBLEM: ADDICTS AND GANGS

This problem matters because not only it can affect the environment but it can also affects the people and it can cause chaos. Which it can give a negative energy and bad intentions between one another just like murders and fightings.

I will join in certain organizations to help the community and also the people who are in influence by the negative people. So that they can have a better life.

The most practical solution is to report to the officials so that they will go to difference rehabs.

I will encourage them by giving them talks to plan or to help each another to join in a curricular activities. Just like talk gatherings and unite with officials to solve the problem

Because we are the reason why the climate change are changing. And the government could also help by giving actions to the community by encouraging them to help the certain problems.

Flooding is a major problem that can cause loss of life, property damage, and economic loss. It can also impact health, safety, and the environment. 

Floodwaters can be contaminated with sewage and chemicals, which can threaten the health of people and animals. 

Flooding can be solved by using flood barriers, floodproofing, and nature-based solutions. And also us because of our apathy and ignorance what we have to do to start changing our ways, Becuase together we can make impossible to possible.


The climate issues that affecting our local areas and world is flooding. Heavy rain fall of the weather can cause flooding especially in the low- lying areas. Flooding can cause damaging the homes, properties,  farms, loss of life and livelihood. Also flooding can damaged the ecosystems.

The action that I personally take to solve this problem is by participating in the community clean -up, I will search  or  prepare how to prevent this problem and also to give an awareness to  the people in our community, in the world rather about this climate issue.

Stronger typhoon can be really dangerous because this can destroy homes and heavy rainfall can cause floods that damage property and put people's lives at risk and can harm plants.

The action that l will take to help solve the problem is by helping cleaning, collecting relief goods and emergency bag so that people are prepared in this problem.

The issues in our village are the landslide on the mountain, because the people are cutting down the trees in the mountains because they made it Oling and painted it.

The landslides can bring to people or our society are the ones that can be dumped by the lands that are still under the mountain.

I help to our village is to make a group and we will plant in the mountains of the trees that all my village should be able to talk to and we will sleep, and tell the You are my villages who do not cut down the mountains in the mountains so that there is no landslide.

The most practical solutions are preparing emergency bags and collecting relief good because these actions can help people before and after a typhoon.

I can encourage my families and communities to participate through social media and organizing volunteer programs for disaster preparedness and response and showing how these actions can save lives and properties.

We can advocate for environmental policies and join or create organizations that push for climate action.

I will enncourage my families and communities to join this action by joining and actively participate in our local areas program for awareness about flood and how to preserve floodplain. Also to I will encourage them to clean in our community so that the trash will not stuffy in the drainage.

We can make companies and leaders do what they say about climate change by watching what they do and checking their work. We need them to tell us clearly how they will cut pollution and be good to the Earth, and we should help people who check if they are really doing it. Also, we can vote and talk to our leaders to make sure they make good rules.

El niño can have major effect locally, such as drought condition brought on by less rainfall, water scarcity, possible wildfires, disruption of fisheries owing to changed ocean currents, and extreme weather events like strong rains in some areas. In addition to cousing extreme in others, El niño also disrupts ocean currents and marine ecosystems. Which has a significant impact on fisheries because of changes in nutrient availability brought on by altered upwelling patterns.

The action that I take is to help solve the problem is water management, drought management and resilience development are ways to combat El niño.

This issue matters for the reason that, waste can pollute land, air, water. Moreover, some People burn the waste to get rid of it, but it is making our ozone layer more thin, that is why it's so hot. Because the ozone layer protecting us to UV rays preventing the sun in burning us. It can also affects our health, it makes our environment more dirty and not healthy, Every time we breath air it make our liver more dirty and our lungs.

The things that I can do to help in this problem, In practicality recycling plastic bottles, reminding people to have an awareness of waste management. And also talking to the leaders, to make all the people in the community unite and help solve this issue in our barangay.

We can hold Businesses by using our platforms correctly like posting that Businesses should use an eco bag, sh as a consumer we need to make them aware that we are advocating and caring for the mother nature. Also we need support businesses that promote products that is good and not harming our community. For government we need to find or elect leaders that truly care for our environment and it is important to use the social media correctly and post about this matter.

And lastly i can encourage my family to promote reduce, reuse, and recycle programs.

Why it matters:

Flooding affects the people here in the barangay because it causes fear, and the flooding inside the houses is also dangerous for people due to the dirty water and rat urine, which is hazardous for those with wounds and can even be fatal due to infection and also floods has an impact on the environment because it leads to a large amount of trash spreading throughout the area, particularly in grenade and canals, In addition, during periods of extreme floods, it damages rise fields and vegetation

My commitment:

As a youth, what I can do to solve the problem is not to throw trash everywhere so it won't add to the garbage piling up in the environment. Additionally, I can set an example for other young people by always cleaning the surroundings and planting trees and plants to help on days of storms or floods.
