  • None of the crises that the planet is currently experiencing cannot be understood solely from the physical, ecological or social perspectives. Understanding the changes requires an interdisciplinary approach. 
  • Here I present you an approach that considers the world, a region or a community as a socio-ecological system. Both systems are interdependent, changing and adapting to each other. Beyond the relative importance of each subsystem in a given environment, for example forest, city or wetland, the functioning of the socio-ecological system in which it is immersed is strongly influenced by economic, social, physical and ecological factors.
