- Satuatary Neglect was the result of England becoming distracted by war, making them unable to enforce most laws in America like the Navigation Acts. The neglect allowed America to carry on with their own affairs without English interference.
-Some immigrants in America did not care for England, such as the Scott-Irish who fled Ireland due to England conquering most of their home. Also, religious groups who were persecuted for their beliefs fled England for independence — most commonly, the Puritans (Separatists and non-Separitists) and Christians of various denominations.
