Jimmy's emotions throughout this book is honestly a roller coaster. He wants to be with Mama Jean but he wants to be with Crab. He knows Mama Jean misses him, but he doesn't want to leave crab. At points he doesn't even know if he should trust Crab. He was unsure of him, but learned to trust him. Then again, he doesn't know him too well.

The book somewhere in the darkness was, interesting...however confusing, the plot never made sense to me and the whole storyline was confusing. I understand that the story was made for the son to forgive his father, “Crab,” but the problem wasn’t major. The book was boring and grammar was all over the place. It was mostly a road trip but the ending had, some meaning. However, that’s it.

Personally, i'm not the biggest fan of this book. Everything gets very confusing and boring. Most of the book is of them being on the road, not too intresting. I get bored very easily and if i was reading this on my own time, i would've stopped reading it. Some parts are intresting but there isn't really a plot or a huge problem. Overall, it wasn't the best book however, it wasn't the worst.
