         <description><![CDATA[<div>GROUP: Group is a set of people, organizations, or things which are considered together because they have something in common.<br>WORK GROUPS:<br>Group work is a student-centered way of teaching that emphasizes collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork.  Practice where “students work in teams to construct knowledge and accomplish tasks through collaborative interaction.” Sometimes teachers use groups to work on short activities in an informal way. However, a more formal structure to group work can provide many benefits for the students as well. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.-Role Structures: Roles are a set of expected behaviour patterns associated to someone occupying a given position in the group. <br>2.-Norms: The typical standard set by the group collaboratively that very member has to follow.<br>3.-Cohesiveness: Extent of belongingness towards each other in the group.<br>4-.Leadership: Is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.<br>5-.Status: Is a socially defined position or rank given to groups or  group members by others.<br>6-.Tasks: Are the activities that all members must do to make the group productive.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>TASK ROLES: They represent the different roles needed to take a project step-by-step from initial conception through to action <br>1.-Initiator/Contributor - Proposes original ideas or different ways of approaching group problems or goals. This roleinitiates discussions and move groups into new areas of exploration.<br><br>2.-Information Seeker - Request clarification of terms in their factua adecuacy. Seeks expert information or facts. Determines what information is missingand needs to be found before moving foward.<br><br>3.-Information Giver - Provider factual information to the group. Is seen as an authority on the subject and relates own experience when relevant. <br><br>4.-Opinion Seeker - Asks for clarification of the values, attitudes,and        opinions of group members. Checks to make sure different perspectives are given. <br><br>5-Opinion Giver  – Expresses  his  or her  own opinions and  beliefs  about the subject being discussed Often states opinions in terms of what the group  "should" do.<br><br>6.-Elaborator - Takes other people's initial ideas and builds on them  with examples, relevant facts andmdata. Also looks at the consequences of proposed ideas and actions.     <br>          <br> 7.- Co­‐ordinator–Identifies and explains the relationships between ideas May pull together a few different ideas and make them cohesive.  <br>             <br> 8.-Orienter–Reviews and clarifies the group's position. Provides a summary           of what has been accomplished,notes where the group has veered off course,       and suggests how to get back on target. <br><br></div><div>.9.-Evaluator/Critic- Evaluates proposals against a predetermined or objective standard. Assesses the reasonableness of a proposal and looks at whether It is fact-based and manageable as a solution.<br><br></div><div>10.-Energizer- concentrates de group's energy on forward movement. Challenges and stimulates the group to take further action.<br><br></div><div>11. Procedural Technician- facilitates group discussion by taking care of logistical concerns like where meetings are to take place and what supplies are needed for each meeting<br><br>12.<strong>-</strong>Recorder- Acts as the secretary or minute-keeper. Records ideas and keeps track of what goes on at each meeting.<br><br>PERSONAL AND SOCIAL ROLES: These roles contribute to the positive functioning of the group<br><br>1.- Encourager: Affirms, supports the effort of the group members and provides a positive attitude in meetings.<br><br>2.- Harmonizer: Conciliates differences between indiviuals. Looks for ways to reduce tension and difuse a situation by providing further explanations or using humor.<br><br>3.- Offers to change his or her position for the good of the group. Willing to yield position or meet others half way.<br><br>4.-  Gatekeeper/Expediter: Makes sure all members have a chance to express themselves by encouraging the shy and quiet members to contribute their ideas. <br><br>5.- Observer/Commentator: Provides feedback to the group about how it is functioning. Often seen when a group wants to set, evaluate, or change its standards and processes.<br><br>6.-Follower: Accepts what others say and decide even though he or she has not contributed to the decision or expressed own thoughts. Seen as a listener not a contributor.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>✨ Name of the activity: Truths and lies. <br><br></div><div>✨ Time: 10 - 15 min.<br><br></div><div>✨ Material: Sheet of paper.<br><br></div><div>✨ Description: The students must make a circle in the middle of the classroom, and they will write in a sheet of paper three things about themselves 1 (lie) and 2 (truths). After that they must put in the bag all the papers and the teacher will choose and read one of this paper, and the students will try to guess if the information is true or not, and who is the (owner) of that paper and (argue) why they think that. If they don't guess they don't win a point, and the correct person must raise his hand and he/she will say that that is her paper.<br><br></div><div>✨ Objective: It is a game to encourage the conversation between New groups. It helps to eliminate prejudices about the people in the groups and it gives the opportunity to share new data about themselves.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These roles disrupt group progress and weaken its cohesion<br>1.-Aggressor:  Makes personal attacks using belittling and insulting comments, <br>2.-Blocker: Opposes every idea or opinion that is put forward and yet refuses to make own suggestions <br>3.-Recognition seeker: Uses group meetings to draw personal attention to him or herself <br>4.-Self- confessor: Uses the group meetings as an avenue to disclose personal feelings and issues. <br>5.-Disrupter: Uses group meetings as fun time and a way to get out of real work <br>6.-Dominator: Tries to control the conversation and dictate what people should be doing. <br>7.-Help seeker: Actively looks for sympathy by expressing feelings of inadequacy <br>8.- Special Interest pleader: Makes suggestions based on what others would think or feel<br><br></div>]]></description>
