In the past, Romans designated the date of New Year's to be celebrated on March 1st, as it was the vernal equinox. Since Julius Caesar established it as January 1st in 46 B.C., it is celebrated on the last day of December and the first day of January. Celebrations were briefly outlawed in 567 A.D., then restored in 1582 with the Gregorian Calendar.

https://www.infoplease.com/culture-entertainment/holidays/history-new-year

Starting in 1904, New York has been celebrating the passage of one year to the other. The ball has gone through many changes, going from a large iron and wooden ball to a massive 11,000-pound ball that lights up the square and attracts over a billion people.

https://www.timessquarenyc.org/times-square-new-years-eve/nye-history-times-square-ball

2econd 2ight 2eer is my favorite Will Wood song, and it represents me because of the line "If sick is defined by what's different, well then pull the plug out and let me die." I relate to this song because I refuse to bend to other people's perceptions and forge my own path. It's also a fun song to listen to and I enjoy playing it.

My first resolution is to keep up with my schoolwork, and to do that I will write checklists of everything I need to do and take more extensive notes to keep up my grades. Also, I will set mental deadlines that are far before the real ones, so I won't end up turning in very late work.

My second resolution is to clean more, because my parents are usually saddled with cleaning on top of all of their work. To do that, I will set limits on my screen time and devote the time I would be spending on my phone to cleaning up, washing dishes, or doing laundry.
