I think that when she tries to run away she knows that she really has no chance of escaping, but I think because she is so fed up with Madam Lockton, her response is to rebel and her showing rebellion is by running away. I see her this way because although she is going through an extremely rough time, she still manages to get through it and keep on going. A secondary character within my book would be Ruth, they are important tom the story because Ruth is Isabelś younger sister, and when their mother died Isabel promised to her that she would protect Ruth. So I feel as if Ruth is the motivation for Isabel to keep on going and keep fighting through all of her troubles. The problem/conflict of the book is the fact that Isabel and Ruth are not free and theyŕe trying to gain their freedom. The main character (Isabel) is attemting to gain her freedom by working together with Rebels, to gain her freedom. So far one of my favorite parts about the book is that it gives the reader an accurate representation of what slave life was like back then. I think this is really important because it helps educate people upon the topic and lets them see what slaves had to go through back then. Interesting Noticing: I think that one interesting noticing from my book is that, it doesn't shy away from the details of her suicide, it gives immense detail on her death, and I think is a good thing because it I think it effectively raises awareness for suicide prevention which I think is a very important matter
