I really like the idea of the Adaptive Primary Literature resources. In doing a little digging, I think I could pull articles about medicine, environment, psychology, etc and relate these articles to what we are covering at the time. There was an article "What if Women Didn't Have to Pay for Birth" that had some good statistics/graphs etc and it would also tie into social justice issues. I want to find other adaptive resources for medical journals that hopefully include the summary data so that we can actually "do the math" and calculate inference tests.
- Mary Seppala

We do a number of readings in this class, but normally I have students do the reading, but I've realized that I need to plan to do more modeling of reading and fluency as we go throughout the year. Additionally, we work on different vocabulary that shows up in our units, but I need to build that out more and do a better job modeling how certain words are specific to History.
- Adam George

We will incorporate more use of discussion of our thinking and how we all use language this year. We'll use whole class as well as pair and three-person groups as a means of sharing our thinking as well as benefitting from learning differing perspectives. The goal will be to use that active discussion to help inform our individual writing and use of voice.
-Steve Dornbach :)

Found this tool for all levels of science students: from biology (9th) to research (12th). It has helped them frame their reading and find success, even with the heavy content laden stuff the research students are reading. Mark Peterson
