Students can take one non-peformance music elective in 9tha and one in 10th. Options open up more for students in 11th and 12th grade.

All courses in 9th and 10th grade besides electives are honors level. IB SL courses are honors level as well. The courses are challenging but there is time built into our schedule for work to get done.

Each class is different, but each course will incorporate both projects and individual assessments.

Geometry for the summer is run through the DCA. Information will come out in March/April.

The summer geometry course is virtual but there will be a few required in-person assessments.

All 9th graders take engineering. math analysis is the pre-calc course.

The Algebra II course for you will not have a Geometry component as it is a stand alone course.

The counselors will complete the physical sheet when they meet with the student this week.

In 9th grade you would have 2-3 open periods with an elective.

Students only have room in their schedule for one elective in 9th grade and one in 10th grade.

It is not necessary to take geometry over the summer if you are already in algebra 2. If you do take Geometry then you would have Math Analysis in 9th grade. We would then have to see what options are available for 10th grade. Either way you are on track to take HL Math in 11th grade.

The business courses are available in 11th and 12th.

No, you do not need prior experience.

Please let us know via email that you are not able to attend. We may be able to work out an alternative.

We do ask that you have alternate choices for your elective.

There is no prior knowledge needed for the music class.

chamber orchestra typically meets 3 times per 12 day cycle during 7th period and 3 times during seminar per 12 day cycle.

Students can take up to 4 HLs in 11th and 12th

The STEM Geometry course has a Statistics component that the summer geometry does not.

Work experience is not a state requirement but students must fulfill the CEW requirements. STEM students are required to complete the STEM practicum for graduation.

Students can take one elective (other than performance music) each year. So they could take Art in 9th and Recording Studio in 10th.

Students who do the Associate's degree take a full course load at DCCC and do not have the ability to take IB courses.

All students take a phys ed course in 9th and 10th grade.

If you would like to take a different language here you will need to complete the first level course of the language you want to take prior to the start of 9th grade. If you find a course that may work please contact our counseling office to make sure that it matches the pre-requisite criteria.

Chamber Orchestra is smaller group that meets 3x per cycle during pd 7 and also during seminar.

String Orchestra is the entire orchestra that meets during seminar only.
