         <description><![CDATA[<div>When "Common Sense" was coming out, at the same time of a meeting going on in Philadelphia, all the congress had first met in May 1775, less than a month after the battles of Lexington and Concord, most delegates from the first congress had showed up but there were new important people, such as Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and later Thomas Jefferson. Some wanted independence but most were trying to compromise with Britain which would increase colonial self-rule</div>]]></description>
