He dreams about a abandoned amusement park. He has nightmare because a little girl named Lucy Yi died there and Nicky think his neighbor is responsible for it. Nicky has been plotting a plan to sneak into his neighbor's house and find evidence he is responsible. Nicky has been making a book with clues against the neighbor. "Below that picture are two I've already seen - the school picture of Lucy Yi, her head tilted as she smiles, her wrist decorated with the Golden Apple Young Inventors Club bracelet, and the camera-wary Mr. Peterson, his palm blocking the flash." (p. 9) Mr. Peterson's children named Aaron and Mya went missing and Nicky thinks it was Mr. Peterson's fault. Maritza and Trinity are helping Nicky find more clues about the neighbor before the amusement park gets destroyed. A company is attempting to buy the land from the Golden Apple Amusement Park and build a grocery store. Nicky and Maritza sneak into the neighbor's house to find a phone book that has the aunt's phone number in it. The neighbor comes home early and he knows someone has been in his house. They escape with a phone book with the aunt's name in it. The police raided Mr Peterson's house and found nothing. Mya and Aaron ran away from their aunt's house.
