Add -er + "than"

tall → taller than

fast → faster than

small → smaller than

Adjectives ending in -e:

Add -r

nice → nicer than

large → larger than

Adjectives with two syllables ending in -y:

Change -y to -i and add -er

happy → happier than

busy → busier than

Adjectives with two or more syllables (not ending in -y):

Use more + adjective + "than"
