Cons: Requires parent support, therefore it needs to be accessible, affordable and safe to maximize interest

The industry: Very positive. It makes sense that since the Tough Mudder is so popular with adults, why not just alter the demographic a bit? Attendance was greater than 350 kids for Springfield Ohio's event.

I think it has potential in Madison. It would be very popular among the families with kids, but it's important that the space be correct -- downtown Madison would be horrible.

The industry: Positive. There's certainly a demographic that LOVES new camp gadgets and tech, and this fits the bill. Additionally, there are some that don't go camping due to the inconvenience, and for them this may help bridge that gap.

This isn't a trend specific to any one area I think, that would do better somewhere else -- rather, it applies anywhere people like to go camping.
