         <description><![CDATA[<p>Group 1  Barrier Games</p><p><br/></p><p>Con: Not learning content, learning how to communicate. </p><p>Difficult to monitor if one student does not understand, the other pair could get influenced in a wrong way</p><p>What will the less knowledgeable person contribute? </p><p>How for a higher knowledgable student will they learn ? Frustrated? </p><p>Different languages - issues? </p><p>Whole class - how to do this? How will this close the information gap? How to manage? </p><p><br/></p><p>Pros: potential learning some vocabulary or practicing vocabulary. </p><p>Useful for Acquiring vocabulary on a particular topic</p><p>Will help the EAL learner. Improving vocab and communication. </p><p>Making sure that you identify the language objectives beforehand - so everyone knows what the goals </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

Helps avoid repetition</p><p>-Helps with modeling how to write, how sentences are framed etc </p><p><br/></p><p>Con's</p><p>-Over reliance- over spoon feeding</p><p>-Sometimes cant start on their own</p><p>-Gives a false sense of accomplishment</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Group 1 Language Drill</p><p><br/></p><p>Pro: In an EAL class of 6 - very workable, good drill to use. </p><p>Could use one of the strategies to introduce the vocab for any subject at the start of a new unit or at the end. </p><p><br/></p><p>Con: But in a class of 25 - difficult to coordinate this, and to spare the time. </p><p>If you do it in an open classroom a lot of pressure on kids to get the answer - can be awkward, not confident enough. Processing time needed etc. </p>]]></description>
