The giant panda is one of the world’s rarest mammals. It lives in the cold, misty mountain forests of central China. The giant panda has a striking black-and-white coat of fur that keeps out the cold. This bear spends most of its life chewing on bamboo stems. It has a thumblike growth on the front paw to help grip bamboo while eating. Since bamboo is not very nutritious, the bear needs to eat a lot of it. It spends about 12–14 hours each day eating, and then sleeps the rest of the time to save energy. The giant panda is the worldwide symbol of conservation, and its own survival is under question. Many of the bamboo forests where the giant panda makes its homeare being destroyed for timber and farmland.

he Malayan Tapir is easily identified by its markings, most notably the light-colored patch that extends from its shoulders to its hindquarters. It is covered in black hair, except for the tips of its ears, which, as with other tapirs, are rimmed with white. The pattern is for camouflage; the disrupted coloration breaks up its outline and makes it more difficult to recognize; other animals may mistake it for a large rock, rather than prey, when it is lying down to sleep.[7]
</sup>

The Malayan tapir grows to between 1.8 and 2.5 m (5 ft 11 in and 8 ft 2 in) in length, not counting a stubby tail of only 5 to 10 cm (2.0 to 3.9 in) in length, and stands 90 to 110 cm (2 ft 11 in to 3 ft 7 in) tall. It typically weighs between 250 and 320 kg (550 and 710 lb), although some adults can weigh up to 540 kg (1,190 lb).[8][9][10][11] The females are usually larger than the males. Like other tapir species, it has a small, stubby tail and a long, flexible proboscis. It has four toes on each front foot and three toes on each back foot. The Malayan tapir has rather poor eyesight, but excellent hearing and sense of smell.

Underside of front (left) and back (right) hooves of the Malayan tapir

It has a large sagittal crest, a bone running along the middle of the skull that is necessary for muscle attachment. It also possesses unusually positioned orbits, an unusually shaped cranium with the frontal bones elevated, and a retracted nasal incision. All of these modifications to the normal mammal skull are, of course, to make room for the proboscis. This proboscis caused a retraction of bones and cartilage in the face during the evolution of the tapir, and even caused the loss of some cartilages, facial muscles, and the bony wall of the nasal chamber.

The Malayan tiger is a tiger from a specific population of the Panthera tigris tigris subspecies that is native to Peninsular Malaysia. This population inhabits the southern and central parts of the Malay Peninsula and has been classified as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2015.It's believed there are less than 300 Malayan tigers left in the world, so they are considered critically endangered. These tigers are poached by humans for their skin, teeth, and more. Also, their tropical forest habitat is being lost to deforestation and land development.
