intimacy doesn’t have to always be in a romantic way, there are actually people who enjoy their own company because they get to reflect and think more. It also doesn’t have to be with a partner, it can also be with your closest friends. While growing up and getting old we realize that only a few people are true to us, especially this pandemic it is hard for us to remain intimate with our friends. But I believe it is important to have your closest friends with you no matter the distance. It is always best to share your point of view in order for you to know as well which is right or wrong or to see the point of view of your friends regarding your opinions.

- Is different from Erikson’s theory since it focuses more on the development of adulthood only. The theory is also inaccurate because it is not applicable to everyone and in our Philippine culture wherein, in some cases, other people still live with their families or are not given permission to move out and become independent. However, Levinson’s theory and Erikson’s theory have one similarity which is “Intimacy vs Isolation” since both theories consider intimate relationships between significant others or friends throughout our development.

If the conflict remains unsolved, it may become a cause of  interpersonal and intrapersonal issues later on in life.

More so, this enables us to build a healthy and strong connection with the people around us, most especially to our loved ones. With that being said, we are more exposed to learning new things that freshens and widens our perspective in life. However, intimacy tends to be defined as having romantic relationships, which should not be the case; intimacy comes from all forms of special and meaningful connections — family ties, friendships, relationships, and such. Through different assumptions on each age, Levinson has managed to create unrealistic expectations in contemporary times. In 2021, the world economy has fallen due to COVID-19, a respiratory virus which has high infectivity and it causes irreparable lung damage to those who contracted the virus. Levinson’s Theory - This theory greatly differs from Erikson’s Theory, since it is structured for early to late adult development. This theory provides both advantages and disadvantages to individuals. However, speaking in a general manner, this theory is difficult to apply to each and every individual due to significant factors. Every individual has different sets of routines, values and goal structures that they want to apply in their lives. More so, not everyone is given the same opportunity to achieve their goals as per Levinson’s structured theory that varies from age to age. Somehow, this theory creates a pressure on what we should achieve by the time we reach a certain age; which is one of the downsides of Levinson’s Theory.
